PERFECT MISERY, one of the best LN songs ever!

This one came together like a charm. One of the 3 or 4 radio friendly tunes...

PERFECT MISERY
Words - Nunziata, Music - Murphy

You can’t be the saviour when I’m need
Always there to catch when I fell it seemed
How can I grow with your safety net beneath me
How can I feel the cold, hard ground and bleed

It’s hard to say no when you’re facing me
I need to stand uninhibited
Let me enjoy a little perfect misery
We’ll be stronger when my scars heal

I feel your shadow just two steps behind
Always making sure I never relived your pain
How can I grow with your hand waiting to steady my path
Just another sign that I’m drenched in need
I love you beyond words, and it’s from the heart when I say
Your help has gotten me this far that’s for sure
It’s time for me to prove your devotion was well spent
I need to feel the cold, hard ground and bleed

It’s hard to say no when you’re facing me
I need to stand uninhibited
Let me enjoy a little perfect misery
We’ll be stronger when my scars heal

Pick me up, and you pick me up, and you pick me up, and you pick me up
I fall down and then I fall down and then I fall down and then I fall down
Forgetting what it is like to stand on my own two feet and I see you reach for me
I fall down and you pick me up and I fall down and you pick me up

It’s hard to say no when you’re facing me
I need to stand uninhibited
Let me enjoy a little perfect misery
We’ll be stronger when my scars heal

Pick me up, and you pick me up, and you pick me up, and you pick me up
I fall down and then I fall down and then I fall down and then I fall down
Forgetting what it is like to stand on my own two feet and I see you reach for me
I fall down and you pick me up and I fall down and you pick me up

This is my favorite on the album at the moment. A classy little tune, helped by some super drums by John, and splendid lyrics with a great delivery.

Love it.

HOLY DAMNS.

This song is MONICA BELLUCI.

On ONE listen, it's right up there with "Liquid Lunch" for me. Might surpass it with more. Just a great pop song and Murph (no offense, John or Nick) is the MVP for this one without a doubt.

Exemplary guitar work, great hooks, awesome lyrics, and fantastic backing vocals. You guys should harmonize more.

In any case....give this one a listen people!

Thanks for the great words. I had hoped you'd like it.

Now, if any one else would care to have a listen...

SHAZAM!

Seriously, this song is fantastic. The floating guitar work is top-notch. It's probably just me, but I get a Dire Straits vibe from the music on this track, especially the guitar. Great lyrics, too. I love the chorus. I agree with Micah on the harmonizing. You guys sound great on this one- all around excellent job.

The deluge of new music from you guys brings happiness to my bathing suit area.

I'm with Mikah. This is a great piece and the haunting guitar gives it the right "feel". The drums are more than good and Nicks vocals are excellent, but Murphy pulls it together.

It is a great song for Steve to shine, and it was intentionally a Dire Straits type of song.

I actually structured the lyrics with DS in mind.

Glad you guys like it, and I'm glad Micah can stroke his Steve hard-on a little. He'd been stroking John a while, and now back to ol' Murph.

Yeah, this is great stuff. Everyone keeps mentioning Dire Straits, but I also get a little Connells feel from (not that you guys want to hear comparisons to other bands all the time). Everything works so well together - I can't think of another Nightstick's song where the music and the lyrics fit so well together. A very confident song. Good work, boys.

This is a favorite. Great work pulling it all together Nick.

Wow, great song. My first impression was a good one, but it gets even better every time that I listen to it. Like it was mentioned above, very confident, it all merges just right. Definitely my favorite one of the six that I listened to today.

Just listened to several of LN's songs and this is by far my favorite.
