An old friend of mine sent me an e-mail this morning. She is looking for a specific book and has no memory of the title or author. She sent me this...
"Plot points: A stuntwoman who did lots of Canonball Run-type movies in the 80's
was in a bad car stunt and ended up paralysed. One of the first hospitals she
was in gave her reallly bad care and her parents got her out. She was in a Long
Beach hospital for a little bit then moved back home to the Hollywood Hills
area. Had affairs with Warren Beatty and Ray Liotta (funny huh? I guess that
part wouldn't be so inspiring but they stayed in my brain for obvious reasons).
The doctors told her she'd never walk but she had been working her butt off and
getting closer by the end of the book. Oh she was friends with Melanie
Griffith. I Know I know, but the main part was interesting, validating and
insperational, I swear! I think there's a picture of her on the cover, wearing
blue and she's in her 30's with pretty blue eyes and long brown hair."
