Here we go. Excellent read, I am on page 387 right now. It takes a while to get used to Ellroys style, like the incomplete sentence structure.

But I got hooked early.

And I feel guilty for likeing Pete.

Pete is one of those priceless Ellroy characters. He's also the first non-wussy Quebecois character I can remember.

Ellroy really hit his stride with this style of writing. It's like a damn machine gun. Hard, lean and tough.
