Stuff Magazine- Now on my shit list

Ok, so they have this "Two Thumbs Up- Your Nose!" section in the new issue. They have 20 movies that suck even though critics keep praising them.

Some of the movies:

Forrest Gump (which most of you will agree with them on, but I love this movie)
LOTR:FOTR
Sunset Blvd.
The Color of Money
It's a Wonderful Life
Citizen Kane

Oh, and The ENTIRE Godfather Trilogy.

Yeah, I guess it's their opinion, but the way they put it, "Feel guilty because you have never seen these "classic" movies? Don't..They suck. And so do the movie critics who keep praising them", is sort've idiotic.

Hope i'm not the only one outraged.

It' just crap to sell magazines. I have to take this as a joke if they include The Godfather 1 & 2.

They were right about 2 of them, but the rest proves nothing other than the guys at Stuff know hot to piss the average movie geek off, and thus getting us to talk about how stupid the list is, then going out, buying the magazine, taking it home, bitching to our wives, girlfriends, moms, dogs, whoever will listen how stupid those stupid guys are, then coming BACK here sharing the list with us and thus the vicious circle begins again.

Yep, it's just lazy journalism. Deliberately being controversial to generate a bulging postbag and hopefully some media coverage. I've worked in magazines my entire life - it's an old trick and, in this case, pathetically poor in it's execution.

I'm guessing it's the same as the UK mag - reviews of expensive gadgets and hi-fi equipment, decorated with half-naked women. I imagine it's quite a tough decision, for some readers, deciding which to wank over first...

Stuff, Maxim, and FHM are great and funny magazines with some nice pics in them at times. We subscribe to all 3. But, I don't agree with them a lot of times. Sure, they aren't Film magazines, but still....

Just to be clear, I wasn't pointing the finger - or anything else - at anyone here with that remark. What you get up to in your own bathroom is your own business...

(although if you sit on your hand for 5 minutes before, it feels like someone else is doing it - just a handy hint wink )
