The Stand: Complete and Uncut

I'm probably gonna be starting this right after Dreamcatcher, but damn. There are like a good 5 or 6 (at first glance) pages un-printed in my copy from Amazon. Is there any possibility that maybe someone could scan the pages I need?

25 of the prologue
14
22
23
31

As far as I can tell, that's it. I have the hardcover edition, the very first edition from when it came out....unless there is anything terribly different that I couldn't just read from the hardcover, I won't need these scanned. But if I do need them scanned, if anyone could scan them it would be greatly appreciated.

All I have is the paper back edition.

Its the unabridged version.

I'll transcribe 'em for you.

But, I have the first print hb edition. There aren't 25 pages in the "prologue". What are the last few words on the page preceeding the "missing page?"

As a matter of fact, give me ending phrase of the page prior, and beginning phrase of page following all missing, and you'll get my typing here.

Oh, and return the book.

Or should I just transcribe the whole damned thing?

Don't know why I thought there were 25 pages in the prologue. The number at the top of the page is XXIV, maybe that's why I thought so.

Ok, the last phrase before the blank page is:

"If the base gates are closed, i'm gonna try to crash through." And......After that there is just the beginning of Book 1.

Then, on page 13 of the actual story, the last phrase before the blank page is:

She started to giggle helplessly and backed away with her hands over her mouth as he turned furiously around, a........, then beginning phrase of next page is: back to where England lies.

Then, on page 21 the last phrase before TWO blank pages is:

Norm put the note back and just stood there for a mo-.......And the beginning is: Agreed. "Well, he got Dr. James to look at this Campion.....

Then, on page 30 the last phrase before the blank page is:

Then someone had to make a command decision on whether or not to bring in the State.....And at the beginning of the next is: -tion in the world? All those old sewers.

That's it. And as far as I can tell, that is all of them. Luckily they are in the first half of the book.

Anyway, I REALLY appreciate you doing this and you can do it whenever you have time. There really is no immediate rush, as i'm on 650-something of Dreamcatcher and should finish that later today.

But thanks a lot.

Verbal, just give me the starting phrases on the pages where the text resumes. That way I know where to stop. I think our pages will be different. Not a problem. I actually learn a lot about writing typing other people's prose. Try it sometime. You can really see the mechanics when you do it, and you're not having to worry about content...

Just fixed it, forgot you had mentioned that.

“If the base gates are closed, I’m gonna try to crash through.” And he meant it. She could tell. Suddenly, her knees felt watery.

But there was no need for such desperate measures. The base gates were standing open. One guard was nodding over a magazine. She couldn’t see the other; perhaps he was in the head. This was the outer part of the base, a conventional army vehicle depot. What went on at the hub of the base was of no concern to these fellows.

I looked up and saw the clock had gone red.

She shivered and put her hand on his leg. Baby LaVon was sleeping again. Charlie patted her hand briefly and said: “It’s going to be all right, hon.”

By dawn they were running east across Nevada and Charlie was coughing steadily.

CAPTAIN TRIPS
JUNE 16 – JULY 4, 1990

I called the doctor on the telephone,
Said doctor, doctor, please,
I got this feeling, rocking and reeling,
Tell me, what can it be?
Is it some new disease?

-The Sylvers

Baby, can you dig your man?
He’s a righteous man,
Baby, can you dig your man?

-Larry Underwood

Ok, cool, thanks.

Help me out here, Verbal ... in my text "...back to where England lies" comes BEFORE "She started to giggle..."

Please be very clear with phrases BEFORE and then AFTER the missing page(s). I don't want to waste typing time.

It's alright, don't worry about it. There are only a few pages missing so skipping them won't be a big deal probably.
