I read that story in some collection or magazine, can't remember which. Great, strange, awesome piece. I will be picking up the collection soon. Is it out on the street yet?

That and three others were on BLOOD AND SMOKE. Also, the excellent THE ROAD VIRUS HEADS NORTH is in this great compilation I have called 999.

Good stuff, though too much is reprinted.

Re-printed? Don't all of his collections consist of stories printed in magazines and comp books?

It came out yesterday, yt.

It also contains 'Riding the Bullet', which was originally only available online, and 'PT's Theory of Pets', which was only available as an audio book.

Must...get...soon

I will probably pick this up today, although I downloaded Riding the Bullet and bought the audio LT's Theory of Pets and Blood and Smoke, and get the New Yorker, so I've read all of those stories. *sigh* I hope there are a couple that haven't been published elsewhere. I didn't buy 999 (though I plan to), so I have not yet read the Road Virus Heads North, so that's one to look forward to. Thanks for the info, guys.

One of my favorite shorter pieces of his is The Library Policeman. I also love most of the stuff in Night Shift, particularly I Know What You Need and Strawberry Spring. I just read somewhere that Secret Garden, Secret Window is being adapted for the small screen.

Only got through the intro and the first story.

But my god, the first story is fuckin creepy.

It had some good tension built up, but I thought the payoff was just a little too cheap.

Easily the best one is the Roland story...so far. I really dig the explanations he's giving at the begining/end of the stories, it's a personal touch and it kinda answers the age-old "where do you get your ideas from?" question.

The main reason the first one creeped me out is because I have had that exact same fear for most of my life.

And yeah, the payoff was cheap, I guess.
