for some time now i have been trying to build an armature. my friends and i used to be big into stop-animation and since we learned how to use computers to do it for us, it hasn't been that big of a deal any more.

so here's my question: where can i find good materials/plans to build a suitable armature?

i've heard that all armatures are custom made, and that makes sense to me. But where do i find all the ball joints and rods and such to actually make my own armature.

any help would rock.
