I am officially a "patron of the arts"!

First off, my gf/so probably wife is an artist, so I am sensitive to the needs..

But we were in my hometown for Christmas-type shit last weekend, and visited a local gallery, and purchased a painting for our living room there.

I feel as though I've somehow risen socially.... wink

Congradualtions Chavez, art is a great investment. Art enhances the character and individuality of our surroundings. And it's a sensible investment, — especially if one takes the time to promote the artist

For a crass intsance, a concrete sculpture I purchased 7 years ago at $250.00 is worth more today, now that the artist has gained recognition. And it looks nice on the bar.

Never buy prints.

Um, it's mainly an impressionist-ic type painting; blue and swirly, with hints of yellow and green within pretty much describes it - we both really liked the color and texture of it. The artist also painted the frame silver, so as to make it a part of the piece, as opposed to just "the frame".

Plus it goes really well with our blinds and furniture. It's the only thing on that wall, however; we need to get some sconces or something to accent it.

Still, I'm thoroughly happy with the purchase.
