My Movie Posters

Much like trailers, I dig movie posters. In school (especially art class), I used to spend a lot of time drawing Star Wars and Star Trek and Aliens and stuff. Then in 97, I got my first PC and it wasn't soon after that I started to design my own movie posters. I do them for films I'd like to make, existing films, sequels I'd like to see, whatever. If anyone out there has some, I'd enjoy seeing them. Anywhere, here's mine.

Predictably, the first thing that got me on to doing it was Star Wars. This is one of the first ones I did, a teaser for Ep1 (before the title was announced).

This is an EP2 poster I did in mid-99 for a course I did on media studies (which gave me a B).

Another early PC Paintbrush effort for Episode III.

This was what made me do this, after talking about a TF movie, I remembered I'd done this, and thought I'd post it.

This one isn't hugely good, but the quote is my favourite line in LOTR.

The world needs more Jaws movies.

This is the last one I did, and I like it a lot.

This could actually be a real teaser poster - it looks just right. I dare you to send it to AICN and see what happens...

Very cool.

But I'm afraid you forgot the huge dismembered floating heads. wink

Fett, I'm in awe. That Transformers poster is gorgeous and it made me crap my pants in absolute delight. You deserve all the Blue Berry Waffles you can get (that's my way of saying you're a fucking genius).

And, yes, pull a prank and send AICN that poster, followed by that video Shelby posted of the VW bug morphing and call it a "visual effect test". They'll be nuts for weeks.

You'd have to edit out the www.themichaelsmith.com logo plastered all over the video though...I remember a pic that AICN posted last year sometime that had Optimus standing in the middle of a city block with people all around...it was proved to be a photoshopped fake, but outstanding none the less.

Lemme find it...

Found it....tell me this shot (even though it's fake) doesn't get certain juices flowing...

Yeah, I remember that. The sad thing was, AICN actually posted it as a genuine test shot from a live action Transformers movie, even though it only takes about 5 seconds to realise it's merely an OK Photoshop job. They did the same with a really bad fake Obi Wan make-up test from Episode III.

Yeah, it was like 3 TB posts into the article that someone posted the link of the model kit that pic of Prime came from.

The Obi-wan pic was hilarious since E3's supposed to only be like 4 years after Clones...funny how being a Jedi can age you like an old potato.
