Hey let me know what you think! Don't forget these are just the sketches. I haven't even started on the finished version yet.

the page should work fine. I double checked all of the links. The page is image intensive so try reloading.

I'm pretty awed by your imagination and artistry, cabal. These are great images. Can't wait to read the whole thing...

Cabal, those are gorgeous drawings. Amazing work. Very surreal and creepy. Let us know when the other pages are done. Thank you for sharing.

Agreed - it looks dark and disturbing. I love comics where each panel has a thousand details to look for. Is this going to be published, or just for fun?

Also, I'm a sucker for stories that take place in completely imaginary worlds. I heartily recommend Kingdom Of The Wicked which seems to be in a similar vein.

Actually, this isn't a comic book...its a set of conceptual drawings for the newest ride at Disneyworld:

"MR. BIRD-FACED FLYING WORM'S WILD RIDE THOUGH HADES AND BEYOND, SPONSORED BY TACO BELL ®"

HeHe.

What is the story you were thinking of that inspired the images?

Thanks for the kind words. I was thinking about Jim Woodring's 'Frank" comic series. It is based on a cat humanoid character that goes around this imaginary world. It contains much more detailed interactions with the environment and has other characters that persist thru the whole. For example there is an evil pig man that is always getting into trouble. Anyway there are no words which is where I took my inspiration to do this.

I'm thinking about injecting a good five extra pages that focus on interaction with other characters. I'll be uploading page 1 as soon as I can find it and page 18 - 20 something this week.
Even though these are merely the conceptual sketches I'm thinking of touching them up and printing them into a comic. Just for fun. I know several places in Chicago that will sell them for me as long as they get 40 percent of the cash intake. I don't care about the money I just want to have fun with it. If and when I ever finish the real detailed pages then I might try to find a publisher but that's going to take a LONG time. I'm a sucker for details.

Hooray for me! Part of this comic was accepted into an underground comics anthology. My first step into the strange and mysterious land of published work.

Cabel, I'll bed you have some dark, messed up dreams at night. Or do you sleep at all?

Ohhhhhhhhh!!
Just kidding. Great drawings. So Dali-like!

Sadly I don't dream that much... or at least remember what I drempt. But when I do it tends to be nightmares.
