CHUDWEST ’02, Part 2: The Ring

Morning breaks with the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee. After a nice morning chat with coffee the preparations begin. But not until…pastries.

Now, where in the World are you going to discover that a certain Chewer is completely obsessed with fine pastries...besides CHUDWEST? Grendel made a point of getting up early in order to sample a certain shop he discovered. I found out how he has an innate talent for sniffing out pastries in countries where they rightly shouldn’t exist. Proper donuts in Singapore don't seem to exist. For him, it’s comparable to one of us finding an In-N-Out or Johnny Rocket’s in India.

He brings back this decadent selection of variations on a Cream Puff theme. Go figure. I even saw the word Tiramisu listed on a fine confection somewhere in the box. I respectfully pass...this time.

Blofeld emerges from the house. We down far too many cups of coffee to probably be healthy. I start to mention something about Will’s granddaughter’s tree house. So we go through the editing studio to the lower deck…potentially waking HAM, which can truly be fatal(although there was no death...yet).

After doing the obligatory walk-through of the tree house - which doesn’t actually touch the tree at any point - Blofeld turns to find pure Gold...naked Barbies and a fully clothed fireman. I’ll let the images speak for themselves. Actually, I think this is where he first thought , "what's all this then?"

Soon enough others start arriving. Uncle Joseph(Mrs. Will’s uncle) is here about to start the cooking fire. No nicer person you’d ever want to meet. Speaks Brazilian Portugese with a slight Russian accent. Probably a volatile mixture of characteristics in a lesser man, but he’s a man of good character. Also a great cooker of flesh.

Nick, Rylander, CTDelude(& companion), Subotai, Nelson, Blofeld, HAM, Smilin’ Jack, Grendel, HotPants etc. Along with Smilin’ Jack there was another distinguished guest, Moriarty. Needless to say the movie guys were well represented.

There was no shortage of good conversation between Chewer and non-Chewer alike. No fights, no death -yet- and little discussion of "the boards". Strange though, I kept hearing Blofeld hollering "what’s all this then?"

Plenty was eaten, although I ate very little…I was helping to cook so I simply nibbled.

After enough flesh had been ritually consumed it was time for the offerings...

Nick brought shirts, hats, and a number of Lucky Nightsticks and Package cd’s. We also passed out the commemorative CHUDWEST ’02 black capsules –sorry, CAPS! Yeah, that’s what they are...caps.

Heh heh...yeah right.

More Sangria and we’re off to the screening room for a look at some interesting things. Not the least of which are some selections of vid from a TV show pilot in the creation process. Rylander brings a tape called Kitchen Sink which weirds us all out in a good way. Interesting stuff.

Then comes The Ring. HAM has gotten hold of the footage to be used in the upcoming movie. A video specifically made to kill you in seven days after viewing. Very strange but very cool imagery. That footage coupled with the CHUDWEST cap…well…

And still, off in the distance, "What’s all this then?" I think the heavy atmosphere was amping his mind, being a mile lower now.

Oh, speaking of altitude...stay tuned for Part 3. That’s the chapter where the bodies lay.

Yep. Bodies. Truly. I remember, as we passed, that I said, "...

I believe there is an Elvis and An N Sync doll both in the hoise somewhere, along with a Scarecrow, tinman Dorothy and assorted other crap.

Blofeld was sooooooo excited.

I'm sorry...I didn't take note of that...

It was something like Moise's in either Glendale or Burbank. Grendel would know as he was their best customer this past weekend. By the time the kids around here wake up from that sugar shock, they'll all be a year older.

I had my first canolli, thanks to grendel.

I checked with Number two who said it's pronounced, "FECHA di teta!"

Oh well, "Foto monogeenie!"

Of course number two is only slightly more insane than number one. Both of them are only slightly crazier than Troy, the Director.

Now number two has checked in to say it is pronounced "Frecha di teta" and I am not sure he is or isn't lying. Damn fake Italians.
