Upstate LOTR 2/dinner gathering

Thread Starter
Brian and I discussed this in the other thread, so I decided to give it a proper thread.

We are proposing an upstate Chewer get together for either Friday night 12/20 or sometime Saturday 12/21. This will be to see "Lord of the Rings: Two Towers" and get dinner after. Also Brian has graciously offered his place as a, to quote the man himself, "base of operations".

If any upstate chewers want to join in, please feel free.

If anyone has theater/general showtime/restaurant preferences, go ahead and throw them out there.

Also any n00bs are welcome to join in on the festivities.

I might be in on this if I could get a few details and whatnot. I've already got plans to go with a few people on the 18th (the 8:15pm showing at Cherrydale for anyone who's interested) and we're going to eat at...wait for it... Frodo's Pizza before the movie.

But I'm sure I'll want to see it a second time so if youse kids are going to see it over the weekend, I'd be more than happy to tag along. Heck, I'd even eat at Frodo's a second time in a week if y'all wanna head there.

Yeah, man, feel free to join. And Frodo's would be fine as far as dinner (kind of keeps with the LOTR theme), but I'm open for other suggestions as well. I'm going to tentatively say Saturday would be the better day for me.

Saturday: No work for me!

Joe Sixpack and Justin. Email me your relevant contact info and I will send directions to my house.

I say we can meet over at my place. Chill for a bit. Maybe if someone brings a console we can play some games or watch some movies. Then we can head out to the movies/and or eat.

Anybody else want to go. Send me an email.

(bad grammer)

Just checking in to say I'm still good for Saturday.

What time do you guys want to meet at my place?

Here are the times listed from fandango for the Hollywood 20:

11:00am | 12:00 | 3:00 | 4:00 | 7:00 | 8:00 | 10:15 | 11:00

(I think its safe to say, times are subject to change).

Also, where do you guys want to get some grub?

My suggestion is Wings Down Under. Its downtown greenville. Its basically a bar with bitchin wings. And I'm a guy that doesn't like wings.

Where do you want to eat? Suggestions?

If we're going the downtown route, Trio's has really kickass italian. It's located downtown, up the street fom the Hyatt. TGI Friday's also has good grub, and is in a prime location in relation to Hollywood 20, same goes for Flat Rock Grille. Justin mentioned Frodo's, which is fine w/ me too. (I think he was referring to the new one near Cherrydale). Whatever is fine with me.

Infinite, are you joining us?
Cool. I guess we can decide on the fly.
Joe Sixpack, email me your phone number when you get a chance.

Guys, lets do this in style and go to CherryDale. Here are the times.

12:13 • 1:15 • 2:50 • 4:20 • 5:20 • 7:00 • 8:20 • 9:20 • 10:45

Cherrydale would be GREAT. What about the 5:20 show, then dinner?

B, I mailed you my # once, it must not have went through. Check your mail at Fantastic Realms, and I'll send it again.

Infinite, do you exist?

Ok, head count.

If we do the 5:20 show at Cherrydale and then dinner, who's in?

I (Chris) am in.
I'll check my emails.

The 5pm show sounds nice.

I called Infinite last night and left a message. I think he's been balling to much to hang with us film geeks.

Mind if I join you fellas???

I think Brian mentioned this to me on the phone a week or two ago.

My last day of work before the Xmas break is Friday, so going out of town is no problem.

I saw it last night, but need to see it again.

And if I were to join you, Frodo's Pizza gets my vote, as I've never eaten there AND it's all in the game, considering the movie we are going to see.

As long as Brian doesn't mind me shacking up with him for one night, I will drive up after my haircut appt. around noon and will also bring my XBOX.

Plus, I'd like to meet Justin and sixpack!

Birds thought my hood was a john.

Question. Do you think we should get tickets early? I will probably swing by on my way home Friday evening to see if its packed.

I was just about to ask what the hell this meant, but it suddenly came to me and I laughed so hard I cried.

OH YES! We DEFINITELY need to buy tickets ahead of time! We should aim to have a complete count by Friday on whose gonna go and then one of us can charge it to our credit card. Normally, I would volunteer, but I just used my card to pay for a rather expensive item, so I would feel better paying someone back.

I will snag some tickets. But I need a head count. I count 4 going.

Any friends, family, denziens of hell?

Sounds good. You could probably swing by Sat morning and get them. I saw it last night, theater was packed. (Astonishing movie, btw)

5:20 is a "Twilight" show I believe, it's a little cheaper if I remember correctly. As of now I will tentatively say it is just me coming. But if someone else joins I'll let ya'll know.

Andrew, I look forward to meeting you. Who is the fourth, Brian? You, Drew, me, and ....?
You, Andrew, me, and Justin L. Bishop said he would go. I have his number to confirm.

Fellas, I need to do a spot of Christmas shopping up there Sat, so would it be convenient if I met you at Cherrydale perhaps? Say around 4:45 perhaps?

I get off work at 1 pm, and am going to try to leave Abbeville by 2 pm, so that might be the best thing anyway.

Sure. Do you still have my number? Call me if you have a change of plans.

Be there or be square.

P.S. Don't any of you guys say anything about LOTR or I will BREAK YOU!!! Sorry, a little Dolph coming thru. wink
post #29 of 32
FYI: I have four tickets for the 5:20 showing at CherryDale.

Tickets going to Joe SixPack, Justin L. Bishop, Andrew Molinaro, and me.

Anyone else is welcome to join us, but I don't have any tickets left. Drop me an email if anyone is going to show up, that way I know who to look for.

See everyone soon.

Nice meeting you, Chris and Justin!

Had a great time at both the movie and at dinner!

We will have to return to Frodo's Pizza again for the nice-looking chickadees.

And Chris, I was saddened that I was unable to meet Steve-John. Just kidding! wink Congratulations on your recent marriage! And send me your address in an email or PM and I send along the money I owe you for dinner.

It was a fun time no doubt. Hope to get together again in the future.

Drew, don't worry about the pizza dude. You can get me back somewhere down the road.

Again guys, it was fun. Good meeting you Justin and Andrew.

Hello fellas! As you can see, my computer got over the little virus it was having...

Had a great time at the movies Saturday night. Hope to do it again sometime. It was great meeting all of you, Brian, Chris and Andrew! We're definitely gonna have to do it again sometime soon.

Long live Frodo's and chicks who wear flowers in their hair!
