I spoke with Nick Nunziata the other day and he said he was working on getting more movie screenings in Greenville.

I want to help Nick out and collect as many of you guys as I can and have a really good turnout for the next screenings he does in the Greenville/Spartanbug area.

On top of the screenings, I would like to get together for some fun. Maybe go out to one of those go-cart tracks or put-put. Something where we can all hang out and shoot the shit.

I would like to meet more of the locals and would welcome any suggestions that you may have.

I lived in Spartanburg for 9 months back in 1997-98 when I was at Wofford College for one year. It was a cool place and I always look forward to heading back that way for Homecoming every fall.

Wanted to say "Hello" the other night at the RTP screening, but did not know what you looked like, though I did see that you were on the front row when Nick handed you a CHUD t-shirt.

Yeah, that was me.

I barely got into the theater.

And that seat was broken. I was lowriding through the whole movie.

I did meet some of the locals after the show. It was cool, because I just moved here from Texas and never thought I would meet Nick, and the others.

Hey Billy,

Let me know when you are planning something and I'll head out that way if work isn't an issue. I'm just up in Columbia, so not too far for a screening and shit shooting.

Make it a Saturday, and I'll head down from Charlotte...

Thanks for the response guys.

I will try to figure out something cool to do. Something that will make it worth your drive.

Speaking of, my parents showed up this last weekenda and we had a little excursion in your city.

We plan on going again, but will stay more than a day. I will look you up before we go and I could maybe say hi when I'm there. It just all depends on what we will be doing while we are there in Charlotte.

P.S. I plan on going to a Racing event soon.

Good deal, just let me know!

Never head of it. Of course, I've only been here for two months, and I'm not much of a bar browsing type.

But if you're game for some kind of Greenville Chewers get together than email or PM me.
Let me know, I would LOVE to attend some G-Ville CHUD screenings. It's a good size city, Nick, you should look into it.

Cherrydale is definently the better theater, but Hollywood 20 is probably in a much more central and accessible location for when you start factoring in participants from outlying areas (like Abbeville wink I like both places, but Cherrydale just has a bit more class about it. We'll see.

Any of you Upstaters ever visit Borderland Comics, or New Dimension Comics, both in Greenville? Which do you prefer. I think New Dimension has the better selection, but Boderlands is a little less shady, and has some better pricing on back issues.

Hey how about a get together to see "Signs" and get some dinner on Saturday August 3 , perhaps? Spouses/signifigant others being welcomed, but not required, of course.

If it sounds interesting to anyone respond in this thread, or e-mail me at c_tmovies@yahoo.com.

We can iron out the details of theater, restaurant, and meeting place if we get a decent response.

You can count me in.

Expect lots of Mad Max quotes pre-viewing and post-viewing. wink

No signifigant others, etc. I've only been here about two months and have successfully hit on married women about a dozen times.

I sent you guys an email.

P.S. I'm wanting to post the pics to chud of our get together. So bring a digital camera.
Any other weekend I would be down, but NYC calls to me the next morning.

Let me know if you guys get another one going... that is unless someone gets shot. If that happens I'm not coming.
Great question. Perhaps as the next go by we can hash it out. Are we gonna do like a 7 o'clock movie and dinner afterwards? Or dinner first and then a 9 o'clock movie? What restaurants do ya'll like? Which theater should we go to? Who the hell knows? Just kidding.

Isn't there a Chili's of Woodruff road? I think there is. I know there's a TGI Fridays right across from Hollywood 20. We could meet there, get our grub on, then trek over to H-20 for the show.

Or we could meet out at Cherrydale Point, perhaps at Frodo's Pizza or somewhere else out that way, get our grub on, and then trek over to the Cherrydale for the show.

We'll see. Depends on who's going, what time they can get there, etc. We'll get the kinks worked out, as they say.

I suggest movie, and the food.

This way we could maximize our discussion of SIGNS.

TGI sounds good. I heard that Chilis on Woodruff sucked. Haven't been there myself but heard it sucked.

Movie about 7ish and then food at TGI.
Movie at 7 (Hollywood 20, I presume since it's riht across the street) and then TGI Fridays after. Sounds good to me.

Rock on!

I will probably be there first. Since Hollywood 20 is only about 5 minutes from my house.

I will be wearing a nice green CHUD T-shirt.

I'll drop you guys my cell number when I get home.

Brian and everyone else here in Greenville or nearby,

Hey the "Handlebar" is basically a music venue, not really a bar. They do have a bar, food, and a great music room and some great acts. I think you would like it. It was voted "Greenville's Best Venue".

Hey, I would love to go to some movie screenings with you all if anything ever materializes. Let me know. I would love to make some new friends around here.
Well, hazed, we'll be seeing "Signs" and catching dinner at TGI's on August 3, if you want to plug in. I'm definently looking forward to it. I hear the movie is quite good (early buzz of course).

hazed: This probably won't be the last get together if it goes good, so if you miss this one, then its cool.

Otherwise you can always email me and we can go do something.

After the movie, we all can have a drink and some grub over at TGI's. They stay open late, so no one will be rushed.

This is going to rock!

P.S. Guys, call me this weekend if you want.
Wow, sounds like fun. As of now I want to be counted in. Maybe I can talk you guys into a drink at the Handlebar after the movie. Ah, I just will do what the group wants to do. I love to have fun and love movies. I saw a weird one on Independent film channel last night ...called Errol Morris First Person(think I got that right). It was a documentary about real life strange people. The last person( a woman) in the movie had a passion for serial killers. Strange, but interesting. I think it will be on again this week or month. Try to catch it if you have the Independent film Channel.

Take care all....hazed(like that)

I can't believe it's only on (apparently) one screen. We'll need to make sure we get a ticket. 7:15 show, right. I might ride by that way earlier and pick up a ticket, 2 if my fiance comes w/me. Peace.

I was thinking of grabbing some early for everyone, but I don't have that kind of collateral or know you guys that well.

I will check on CherryDale just in case.

That is it. I'm sure there will be more than one screen, that's just all they have listed at the moment.

I will try calling and check back next week.
Hey man, don't sweat it. We'll get tickets. Most morons these days wait til 10 minutes before the movie starts to get tickets any way, even on Saturday night. If some people want to swing by earlier that day and get tix, or even wait til 30 min before the show, evryone will most likely be cool on getting them.
