When did the US government become socialist?

Why does Colin Powell keep saying how horrible it is that Iraq has a $20 billion a year in oil and that the Iraqi people don't get it?

Are we supposed to believe that when American oil interests take over these wells they're going to hand money out to the Iraqi people? That would be unAmerican!

Maybe the new democratic government will nationalize the oil fields. Then we can overthrow them.

Which come to think of it isn't really American.
