Either way, I'm impressed that this thread (with its incredibly sensationalised title and everything) hasn't turned into a Mandela-bashing festival, or even better a speculation as to
whether the US should target Mandela/South Africa as an enemy ...as discussed last night by my <spin> all-time favorite journalist and mentor and guru and role model, Bill O'Reilly. </spin>
I have the utmost respect for Mandela (and since I'm black, my opinion counts more than most of you guys

), but I think he should have practiced a bit more tact in his statement.
I agree with everything he said exccept for the racism against Koffi Anan (sp). I think that's a bit far out.
Still, he's a man of peace, and a tactful, better thought out and more profound statement would have made so much more of an impact than what he said.
