I thought there's no threat from biological and chemical weapons. I thought there was no concrete evidence.

An attack that could come in any form, at any time, in any place. How the hell do they really expect people to prepare for that?

People know that there are bad men who want to hurt America. Stuff like this, unless it's backed up with solid info on exactly where or what the threat is, can only lead to paranoia and panic. I realise they can't be completely specific about threats, but to be this vague about the danger, while telling people to stock up on survival supplies, is just plain dangerous.

If they keep ramping up the paranoia, sooner or later, some innocent Arab-American is going to be beaten - or worse - when he's taking out his trash, looking "suspicious".

Oh, of course they mean to scare people, for god's sake. WE ARE UNDER ATTACK, PEOPLE. NOT JUST US, BUT OUR VERY WAY OF LIFE! So shut the hell up and let us go about the business of war to make the world a goddam safer place!
