It should be taken out back and put in the wood chipper.

Stop visiting it?

Yup, you could always not contribute. It's easy and it's free.

However, this thread should certainly be discarded at the earliest opportunity.

You could always try <a href="http://www.teletubbies.com/" target="_blank">this</a> instead

Burke, if you opt for this, at least give us a goodbye thread, please?

Maybe I'm just tired of all the Iraq stuff. Yes, yes, of course it's important. It just feels tired, like we all go over the same territory over and over again. I now equate the politics forum with Warner Bros. Sure, they often kick out some new tidbit that at first glance seems interesting, but upon closer review the "exciting new development" becomes a retread of all the old arguments. Ratner-Bay, Clinton-Bush... what's the difference?

I think the staleness of this particular forum is an apt topic. Feel free to disagree Englebert.

Well, bitching about it rather than working to make it better seems to be an odd way to attack the issue.

While it has taken a distinctive left turn as of late I simply choose my threads and replies as wisely as possible.

I know the room I'm walking into. Hell, I think it'd be really boring to be in a hugely conservative forum. I cannot develop new opinions or skills that way.

Thank you Kronos.

That's the point of debating: Discussing stuff. Everyone having the same opinion and just nodding their heads in agreement is not very productive, is it?

Sorry. Guess I was just imitating you. wink

My problem is not with people having different opinions. My problem is with the exact same opinions being expressed in the exact same way. (I am as guilty of this as anyone else.) I'm not looking for consistency of thought. I'm looking for articulate, interesting, and thought-provoking posts... not this dreary monotony.

I completely agree. I feel the same way when I read in just about every thread about something that Clinton did...or didnt do. I'm sure you feel the same when someone calls Bush an idiot. But Devin is right, it is up to you to make things better.

Be honest, things have gotten way more civil in here and as a result a lot more boring. Iraq has been held over our heads for so long, there really isnt too much more to talk about. I think things will change immediately after we decide to go in or not.

Oh there's a lot to talk about...but I assure you it'd be boring for those outside California. There's so much in the way of politics in California that you'd never be bored...unless you're not Californian.

And the opposite I imagine is true for your State.

What people fail to recognise is that State & local politics are truly the most important.

Actually, I truly find National politics tiresome and boring. Strange, huh?
