Well in an effort to steer the conversation in a more general direction, it really is amazing at what people will do based on rumor. NY supermarkets are bare bones because people are stocking up on water and non-perishable goods based on the "rumor" that terrorist attacks are forth coming.
The media is awful in perpetuating things. Just today, there were a dozen articles pertaining to terror attacks. Here are a few:
