How come Iraq hasn't used its Weapons Of Mass Destruction?

I have family living in the US, and I was so scared that Saddam would use the Weapons of Mass Destruction that President Bush said he has.

I thought he would retaliate against the attack by launching some secret, ultra-powerful, chemically-laced, long-distance missile across the globe to destroy New York.

I thought he would launch a few dozen.

Obviously something is wrong somewhere, and I don't think it's as simple as it looks.

President Bush and US intelligence said he had WMDs, so he definitely HAS them.

I refuse to believe that all Iraq had was a few scuds and mortars. That's impossible, because this tyrant and these people are a very real threat to the United States of America, to the World, and to Freedom.

So something's wrong here...why has this evil tyrant not launched his armada?

Do you think that he's probably saving them to kill his own people?

Either they don“t have them or they will use them in the end when all hope is out.

No...I wasn't.

I honestly thought he had some sort of WMD.

Didn't think the missiles would actually get very far, due to missile shields and Patriots, but I thought that this brutal dictator would make his evil intent clear and finally prove that he could actually carry out his threats against Freedom.

Are Scuds long-distance?

Yes, it's kind of scary to tempt fate by daring Iraq to use WMD, if they do have them.

So what's Saddam waiting for?

He DOES have Weapons of Mass Destruction, right?

shrugs
Who knows to questions one and two.

Unless:

a) he's not able to give the ok to people (either he's knocked out or comms are)

b) he thinks he may still be able to salvage something by not using them

c) we've prevented it

New York? I don't think he has the weapon capabilities to reach the East Coast. Hell, does he even have enough weaponry power to hit the West Coast?

If he does anything, I'm guessing he'll send his WMDs (assuming he has them) at Israel.
Good grief, they have no capability of hitting any portion of the US. North Korea is far more advanced militarily than Iraq and they have one missile capable of possibly hitting the US, and even that would barely hit the West Coast and has never been tested. If Saddam is harboring WMD, he will either rain hell on Israel or scorch the earth on his way out. Assuming he is alive and coherent of course.

Just saw that the Marines have reached one of the sites intel said was storing WMDs. We'll see if they find any there....

Nope, I think ~500 mi; but I believe that they were forbidden under the terms of the 91 surrender. (Hans Blix: "Oh, THOSE Scuds were the ones we were looking for?)

They'll find WMD somewhere. Even if they don't.

Disarm a country for ten years, after attacked it because it has weapons of mass destruction(courageous). we are in presence of a PARADOX.

I guess it's a paradox, but what is more of a paradox is how a nation that is disarmed has the very weapons it was supposed to be disarmed of.

So there are people who honestly thought Saddam was going to, or even COULD, lob WMD at American soil? Yikes.

I fear that Crash-Man's rhetoric/ignorance laced posts represent more of the population than I thought.

It either had to be sarcasm or "Crash-Man" is the alias John Ashcroft uses on the boards. wink

If he uses them, it'll be when he knows his time is up and there is no way out anymore.

And no, it will not be against people here in the US. He doesnt have anything that can reach anywhere near here.
