...is Ari Fleischer the most condescending dickhead imaginable?

Prankster, I had apparently never rated you before, so you get a nice fat fiver for that chuckle you just gave me...

I hear ya. He's Bush's little buttweasle. He has no power, all he does is talks to the media, and he thinks he owns the place. Can't stand him.

One of the best Press Secretarys there has been.

I hate him. Well not really but I can´t stand him. I also hate Rumsfeld, Bush and Ashcroft but not Powell.

Powell is the new teflon don. He probably could have won the presidency before if he cared to, and now he's able to align himself with individuals who invoke very strong anger in some people without actually having any of that stick to him. Amazing, and I'm not saying that to be critical of the guy. He somehow just seems to not get dirty.

Also when you have to field the questions of idiocy from Helen Thomas I'm sure you become a bit short with other questions.

I'm surprised he hasn't had her shot or at least removed her press credentials.

Black people aren't intellectual enough to be perceived as "that type" of evil, remember?

[/sarcasm]

Powell is a lackey.

I'm genuinely curious, CTD. On what are you basing that statement?

He reeks of condescension. That's not even the word.

And I think Rumsfeld is pretty bad too. There's something about that guy, can't quite put my finger on it.

Well uh...I don't have a problem with that per se. I mean, it is his job.

I just dislike the way he patronizes and talks down to the reporters who dare to ask him questions that might discomfit him (i.e. doing THEIR jobs).

Ironically, that's exactly the way I felt about Joe Lockhart. Always wanted to punch him right in the neck.

Colin Powell seemed to me to be a very nice, genuine, smart man. I met him about 8 years ago when he spoke at a non-political conference I was at. He gave a great speech, echoing the sentiments of a lot of people in this forum. I got a chance to shake his hand and say "Hello", and watch him talk to person after person when his speech was over. I've not had many people impress me as much as he did, in the short time I got to see him. Even then, people kept asking him if he was going to run for president or vice-president.
