A Fragging!

Latest news about the grenade attack at the American base in Kuwait: an American soldier is being questioned in connection. Is this a return to the venerable Viet Nam era tradition of fragging your CO? And doesn't fragging only occur in the field?

It can happen on or off the field.

nice to see that this fragging took part on behalf of an disgruntled arab-american soldier (for a minute there I thought a redneck from 'Bama had done this).

being that one of our own blew up the building in oklahoma city, i thought that a mcveigh sympathizer had done the job. I was wrong.

so, if i though a r'neck had done it, i'm racist.

if i think an arab had done it, i would would've been accused of racial profiling or racism.

so which is it?

Does anyone know what happens to someone caught "fragging"??

My bet would be that they are interrogated for a few days, and then have an "accident" on the way to trial.

The UCMJ is painfully clear about TAKING UP ARMS AGAINST YOUR OWN COUNTRY IN A TIME OF WAR. Which is what the soldier did.

No leeway here. In the old days, execution. They might still push that. I would. No excuse for treason.

Take care,
Chuck

I waffle somewhat on the death penalty.

But not in this case.

Treason, attempting to kill an XO and fellow soldiers, in a time of war. He's fried.

I'm against the death penalty but this guy deserves a bullet through the heart. Keep the death penalty open for treason.
