National Taxpayers Union Taxpayer Scores

From an e-mail I receive from the Libertarian wing of the Republican party - the RLC(Republican Libertarian Caucus):
Quote:
RLC’s Ron Paul A Friend of Taxpayers:

The non-partisan National Taxpayers Union
has released its annual Rating of Congress
and The Republican Liberty Caucus’ Ron Paul
is named a “Taxpayers’ Friend”.

“…the highest scorer in the House was Ron
Paul (R-TX), with 88 percent. Paul has
claimed the top spot in his chamber for the
third year running.

Unlike those of other organizations, NTU’s
annual Rating does not simplistically focus
on only a handful of equally-weighted “key
votes.” For this reason, it has received
praise from lawmakers on both sides of the
aisle.

The Rating, which is based on every roll
call vote affecting fiscal policy, assigns
a “Taxpayer Score” to each Member of
Congress that indicates his or her
commitment to reducing or controlling
federal spending, taxes, debt, and
regulation. For 2001, a total of 155 House
and 194 Senate roll call votes were selected.

The 335,000-member National Taxpayers Union
is a non-profit, non-partisan citizen
organization working for lower taxes, less
wasteful spending, taxpayer rights, and
accountable government at all levels.”

By the Way, the least taxpayer friendly
congress people are Hillary Clinton &
Charles Rangel.

Note: The 2001 Rating, along with a
searchable Rating database from the years
1992-2000, are available online at

In case you're interested. I know most people don't seem to care much.

Can I express how totally unshocked I am by this little nugget of information?

And of course I care about this Kronos!

And it's maddengly funny to hear them defend their big ol' tax-n-spend. Well, at least it is from Rangel because he'll actually defend it. Hilly won't go on any show to defend her positions.

Because the more she has to speak about issues off the top of her head, the more painfully aware it becomes that she has all the smarts of your average actor.

Like Ronald Reagan?

Or would he be your average brain damaged actor?

can't quite cut the strings can ya Devin?
It's ok. Jump back in,rather than these hit and run jobs.

I dont blame him. You demean liberals, he demeans conservatives. You just dont understand...someone makes a post about Libertarian Republicans favoring what I assume is low taxes (incredibly logical) and two Democrats favoring high taxes (again, nothing suprising) then take the opportunity to bash Clinton...

You guys took a few posts to put across your points, Devilf took one...

Also, you can say a lot of things about Hillary Clinton, but not intelligent? If she isn't smart then I am honestly interested in how you rate yourself. When you graduate Yale law school...get back to me.

It is easy to just say someone is stupid, its harder to give solid reasons why you dislike them (which im sure you have many when it comes to Clinton).

I might be going out on a limb here, but I am pretty confident that you would not agree with people when they call Bush a moron...its the same deal.

No, he's more on the level of "retarded dolphin".
