A better answer would be "you don't have to".

Acceptance of a particular book or tome as being "Holy" is an individual thing. Nobody says you have to accept The Bible, The Koran, The Torah, or the Necronomicon as being "Holy" in whatever definition you accept as "Holy".

And unfortunately it all comes down to faith. Something many lack, something many possess, and something many people are deluded to. But it comes down to faith and that's about that. And faith is one heck of a thing to debate.

Why believe the Bible is THEE Word of God?

No other way to point it out. Cause if I decide to point out all the things that are hands down divinely inspired in the Bible if you don't have any faith in what I am saying then all you would see is faults. Or you would be quickly thinking back to all those "faults" other people laid out and use them against me...ultimately not listening to what I have to say.

Like what you need to believe in the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus. It occurs to me that there is no reason to respect someone for believing in Jesus anymore than I should respect someone for believing UFOs come from a civilization at the center of the Earth.

yet in that regard I don't give a flying puck if you respect my own faith or not. If I did then I wouldn't possess the faith as my own. Unfortunately Dev the way things work is that I am not bound by what others think. I live not for others but for God and whether you believe in Him or not is ill-relvant because that is your choice not mine. Hence my ablity to stand up for what I believe in no matter what I face.

Heh you can also chalk all this up to another reason why I dont avoid your arguements nor your bashings. Because it doesn't matter. Granted I do try to learn from what you state. The facts you give. But unfortunately it is your attitude which forever turns me off from it. You snarl and snicker as if you are the end all and be all of everything in what we discuss here when you are far far from it. If you would happen to say in the beginning of a post something like "But I just ask that you look for a moment this way..." instead of "and this is why the world is going to hell" or "People like you supporting this president remind me of the populace of Rome in its final days" or whatever so-called witty remarks you make up.

I've tried to be civil but you bite the hand that reaches across the table to you. Why should I bother to listen to anything you say if all I can expect from your opinion of my views is that I am some deluded, racist, idiot? Give me some good reason. No?
