SW: Knights of the Old Republic - Page 5

Ha Ha Ha....now, THAT is evil, folks. Good show.

People here want to slag me for being evil, but I actually helped the young lovers reuntie apart from their families.

One area where evil will do you no good, tho, is on Manaan. Once you finish killing EVERYTHING in the Sith base, the Selkath will arrest you, and evil, dismissive responses will get you the electric death sentence EVERY time. In fact, it took me about 4-5 tries to lie my way through court to get out of there alive.

Damn this thread has me wanting this game. Having just got back from vacation and lacking an X-box the $250 dollar price tag would probably cause my wife to set me on fire. I will have this at some point though.

Well there was me sitting on the fence about getting an X-box or PS2, i'd borrowed both between different mates and although we don't get this game utnil 26/9 i believe, i am now sold on the X-Box.
Can't wait to get hold of this.

I played for over 3 hours last night... and I'm still in the underworld of Taris looking for that chick and the Wookiee so that I can join the Swoop Race. Is this normal?? At this rate, it will take 7,000 hours for me to get off this Godforsaken planet.

(BTW, I'm gaining Lightside points at every turn)
Well I am just past the 4 hour mark and that was right after I fought the Rancor. I am playing the game as if it was me so I am a Jedi all the way. I even buy drunks more drinks to avoid a fight lol.

How is this going for you? I'm still getting my ass whooped in the Taris sewers. Maybe I've missed something crucial along the way.
Well I made it off Taris and am on the last of the Jedi Trials..

So far I like it, the diffrent alien voices add alot to the mix and lots of side quests so far.
The alien voice work, and the voice work in general, is some of the best ever. The funny thing is you'll start talking like a Twi'Lek after you go through enough interaction with them (e.g. "Caaaaaaaaaa je......").

I didn't bother to keep trying because it's not necessary, but has anyone who's been through Tattooine managed to beat all THREE swoop race times? That last one...22:50....I mean, I know it's physically possible to beat it, but DAMN. I just couldn't do it, and I left Nico to his fate.
I remember reading quite a while back that your character would change physical appearance depending on what end of the spectrum you chose, i.e. turning grotesque the further into the dark side you journey. For you evil bastards, have you found that to be the case?
Oh yes. You would think that my sunken, white eyes, pallid purple complexion and evil facial hair would tip the Jedi off to my true intentions.
I want this I want this I want this I want this......
Thanks for your help, Micah, with the Assault Droid. For the players having troubles with the Rancor, switch to Mission and go into stealth mode. Once stealthed, frag grenade the rancor and run back into that doorway where the rancor won't follow you into. Rinse and repeat until the rancor is bringing upon the tears of the fat guard in Return of the Jedi.

Finished. All I can say is, this is as fitting an installment to the SW legacy as ANY, I repeat, ANY SW film. The game's underlying message is strong, and it's more memorable than Episodes 1 or 2.

24 hours and 5 minutes. You COULD say I rushed...but not the second time through. I'm gonna make every single minute last, because after all...it's time to be an evil bastard.

Could say you rushed? You didn't do anything in the game, lol. I'm 26 hours in and am still about 8 hours away from the end. In this game SIDE QUEST MATTER VERBAL!!!
I didn't do most of the stuff on Dantooine, and I didn't play cards. That's about it.
Also, for Bioware people....Kevin Michael Richardson, the voice of Jolee, was the voice of the narrator in BG1, not to mention Sarevok. I KNEW his voice sounded familiar.

The cards are "ehhhh," but there's a LOT of good stuff on Dantooine you missed, Verbs.

Hunts, swoop races, Calo Nord, extra lightsaber crystals.....
Anyone run into whatever that Carth "bobble head" glitch people talking about? Don't see what or how or when it occurs but just if you ran into it.
And is anyone else enjoying the quips of HK-47 as much as me?

"Shall I kill him now Master?"

Can't talk now. Playing.

Isn't that Tatooine?

And I am sure I have recognized a couple of voices from here and there in other vid games and cartoon voices.

Amazing game/story. Yes, as good or better than any of the films. Makes me wish Lucas would let others write and direct random Episodes for new films, not that I don't like any of the 5 already made.

I was thinking I would get in there and be an evil mofo but I can do no wrong no matter what it is. I'm a Jedi boy scout.

Wish the graphics had been a bit better but with so much going on and the top notch voice work I can't complain.

Yes. I stand corrected. Dantooine has some fun stuff, too. The murder mystery which I blew at the last second, the family feud, the informative Jedi Twi'Lek at the gate.
There's gonna be no limit to how evil I am the next time through. I'm gonna be so malicious....muahahahahaha!
Fuck... I'm still in the Sith Base, and haven't been able to play at all. I won't be able to play tonight either, because I have a softball game... must wait just a little longer...
Without spoiling ANYTHING, let me assure any of you who are playing the game as the dark side....you will not have any trouble beating the game.
I'm already thinking this game might be too short!
Not if you do all the side quests.

I also went into the game wanting to be evil...but I couldn't. I suck at being evil.

Just check my new name. By far my favorite character in the game- i've got everyone in my house wondering what the hell i'm doing, laughing my ass off at 3 in the morning after repairing some of his memory.

And as for the voices- I swear i've heard Liquid Snake's voice a bunch of times for various minor character- the metal gear team help out with this one too?

I managed to do it- but man, if you can't get those, don't even try the races in Manaan- they're brutal. Just hit all the acceleration spots and keep slamming that A button as soon as you can shift and you should be fine though. You get some nice loot for winning all the races.

Actually you are sorta right, the voice of Raiden from MGS2 is in the game, he is everything it seems now in games.

Anyway, I just finished the game, and WOW, what a satisfying ending!! Just perfect, seeing this ending made me not even think about the shittyness that the dark side ending must be. THIS IS THE WAY A STAR WARS STORY SHOULD END!!! Even saying that, I'm curious to how different the ending is the for the dark side, it has to be completely different. Also I would like to add that Jeremy Soule did a great score for the game, but like with Xenosaga, it was poorly implemented into the game. The ending credits music after the usual SW fanfare, you can really hear his brillence. My finish time was 29 hours 46 mins.

Does this game keep track of how long you played, or do you guys run stopwatches or something?

When you manually save a game, it tells you how much time you've spent at the load screen.

You remember how your parents told you "There's no such thing as a stupid question."?

They were lying.
Theres just no way you guys are doing all the side quests. I can't suck that much can I (well I did beat all the swoop times on Tatooine)? I'm still galavanting across my first world after Dantooine at about 25.5 hours. I'm helping every single person that needs my help, and constantly talking to my crew. I think I'm a Jedi Guidance Councilor or something.

On Tatooine there's this hunter who hunts with battle droids. Was anyone able to solve all the puzzle related to this guy? Of the four droids, the one with the number sequence (4, 14, 11.14 etc) didn't make any sense to me. Any ideas?

Also, i really hate Pazaac. I don't think you can find a single game where the outcome isn't rigged. When you progress to bets of 500 with the guy on Tatooine its impossible to win on the first game. Argh. What's the point?

Great game. I need sleep. And, maybe I should show up for work tomorrow.
I'll allow that every so often the game pauses excessively between levels, but I don't think the bugs are THAT far-reaching. It's somehow worse with some people's copies than others. Sorry you're getting the crap.

Yeah, sorry that I don't know how an XBox works!

Good lord-a-mighty, do I love this game.

12 hours in, still on the first planet. I'm trying to finish every single quest that I possibly can. I like to be thorough.

Of course, I'm a goody-two-shoes Light-side Jedi. Well, I'm not a Jedi yet, but it looks like it'll happen soon.

Love the graphics, music, sound effects, voice acting, you name it-just a great freakin' game.

Actually, it's just the game that keeps a time record itself, it isn't even the Xbox. Don't know why Connigit felt the need to chastize you for not knowing.

You wait until you get 2 Jedi working alongside you and you have to face Malak's apprentice Darth and HIS two Dark Jedi in a force power showdown.

Keep some spare underwear on hand.
Hell, I needed a change the first time Bastilla (sp?) used that double-bladed lightsaber in combat. I can only tremble in anticipation of a full-on Jedi sword/force power fight.

Did anyone else love the intro for that one badass bounty hunter as much as I did?

One...

Two...

Three...

Hehehehe...

Luckily you get to rape that guy later on. And take his nifty battle armor that I used all the way through the game (upgrading it, of course).

not pretty is 3 of your party members having nine minutes of fame with the sob...1, 2, 3...

Too heavy for my tastes. It limits my powers. I can't do all of the nifty force waves and force whirlpools and lightning with that armor on.

Does anyone know what i'm supposed to do with the stowaway on the Ebonhawk? I'm stumped and have no idea what to do.
That's odd, I don't remember getting any penalties for wearing that armor. Maybe I did and didn't notice it, but nothing that really hindered me if there was a penalty.

She ran away under her own power, and I said good riddance and left her ass on Kashyyyck.
