Sierra to publish new Buffy the Vampire Slayer game

No, this one isn't based on the movie, either.

Sierra Entertainment has announced plans to publish Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2: Chaos Bleeds for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. The game is currently being developed by Eurocom, and it is scheduled for release during the third quarter of this year.

Not much information about the game has been revealed at this time, but storywise, the game is being designed as a sort of "lost episode" that will take place sometime during the fifth season of the popular TV show. The game will feature five playable characters: Buffy, Angel, Willow, Xander, and Spike. Each character will have unique abilities.

Chaos Bleeds will also feature a multiplayer mode, with games such as one-on-one combat, last man standing, team survival, domination, and bunny catcher.

This new Buffy game is scheduled to be shown at E3. We'll have more information soon.

Very, very early shots but there ya' go. The game is going to the PS2, GC, and Xbox.

And yes, story from Gamepsot and shots from IGN. So shoot me...

Syd!

Is that a ventriloquist's dummy?
Yes, that's Syd, from the best episode of season 1.

Odd...super-fucking psyched that it's moving beyond Xbox, now I don't have to buy one just to play the first game.

Would make sense. Kind of hard to tell with all the pixels. I thought it was Giles for a second there.

Its sad to see that the fact that its a port actually makes it look worse than the original. When will they learn that starting with the better system and trckling down to the lesser ones makes the overall game look better.

Might also have something to do that it's only in the early stages in development, dontcha think?

SID! FAITH! THANK YOU GOD!!!!! OH GOD I'M HAVING A SEISURE! HELP ME JEEBUS!
Is that Faith?

Considering it's 5th Season time-wise, I figured it was Anya.

These better be EXTREMELY early shots of the game because if the graphical quality from the first is lost because of their need to make money by putting this on PS2 as well, I'm going to be pissed.
Where's Faith? did it mention her?

Sid the Dummy rocks-"nubile". Hope the guys do the voices again(minus SMG of curse). Don't see why not, it can't take them more than a few hours to knock the lines out.

And why couldn't FPjr. who loves video games convince his wife to take a few hours out of her day to do this game. Oh well the game looks awesome, can't wait to play it.

i see the tat now, but it also looks alot like Cordy. Early stages fine, I just hope they put it on Xbox first and make everyone else wait.
If I can't have GTA3, PS2 people can salivate over Buffy.

Yah but the first game wasnt made by Sierra, this one is. And early developement or not the original still looks better. And the original jumped from system to system.

You may enjoy playing the classics on DOS, but i like to keep a nice standard in the games i play. And this is crap plain and simple, but hey you wanna keep paying for dumbed down products have at it. I dont really care that they go multi platform, but would they at least build from the highest one down, you'd think they'd hire people with common sense.

I wouldnt expect major leaps in graphics either, early developement or not the best you can expect is PS2 level stuff, with minor tweaks for Xbox and Cube. Hell im not even getting my hopes up that its gonna be even close to the other one since they changed developers. Sierra's great and all, but normally changing developers is never good. It always changes the game for the worse. Just look at the Legacy of Kain series, take out Silicon Knights and you lose everything that was good about the original.

They better have the guy who does Sid's voice in the tv show. he fucking rules.

There's a great fansite already up for the game. Check out some new screens and movies there.
