Worms 3D

Saw the article on IGN, <a href="http://xbox.ign.com/articles/395/395157p1.html" target="_blank">here,</a> regarding the new worms game being tackled by Sega. I'm partially curious about the new direction and hopefully the new strategies to employ when taking out your friends...but I have my reservations about the jump to 3D when the side scroller was immensely addicting as it is/was.

Any thoughts on this...looks like we got till this winter to deal with the new change.

Awesome, plain and simple. Though I would still play a side-scrolling 'Worms' game like the old ones were, it's cool they'rd finally 3-D'ing it. As long as they keep the humor intact, and maybe give the campaigns more teamwork aspects as opposed to one worm doing all the work per turn, I think it'll rock.

I know Debbie Beswick from Team 17, and she told me last year that publishers had been begging for them to do Worms 3D for ages, and they'd always held off until they could come up with a way to do it without harming the classic gameplay. So I figure it'll be pretty good. T17 know what they're doing - and they own the Worms brand - so it's not like they'll do anything to fuck it up.

I'm skeptical about this, but because I have much love for 2-D Worms and the work T17 has done, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Sounds like a tempting idea, but right now my plate is full without the need to devote 1/4 of my day to this games multiplayer nirvana.

That and the fact that I only owned the dreamcast version...and have had no luck locally finding this game on shelves.

Good luck finding some chewers who are game though.
