I played this on the PS2 at Nick's house with Nick, Steve, Micah and Alain.

Well, today I found out that it will be available on the XBOX on May 5th and it has some extra stuff that the PS2 version does not.

It will be called The Developers Cut and will include the following:
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Bigger tracks and better AI than the original Burnout
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Stunning crashes that will blow you away
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">21 extra custom car skins
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Solid 60fps in two-player split-screen races
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Custom Soundtracks
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Score from the original Burnout
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">5.1 Dolby Digital
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Xbox Live support in the way of an online scoreboard
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">XBOX Magazine also gave it a hearty recommendation.
IGN.com gave it an 8.6 out of 10. Read the review <a href="http://xbox.ign.com/articles/399/399946p1.html" target="_blank">here</a>.
Buy it from Amazon.com <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00008RUYR/qid=1051738319/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_3/102-2553834-4488902?v=glance&s=videogames&n=507846" target="_blank">here</a>.

Actually I already have this game. So it's not May 5th.

Went to GameSpot and decided to grab this and was also looking for a used copy of TIMESPLITTERS 2. They had no used copies, but the new one was only $30, so I relented. I also decided to put a $5 deposit towards BRUTE FORCE, which arrives at the end of the month. All told, it would've cost me about $87. Yikes!

Then the guy tells me that if I pay a $10 fee for their discount card and monthly magazine subsciption (good until May 04), I could get BURNOUT 2 absolutely free. NO rebates, etc. So I did. All told, I paid $47 and some change.

WOOHOO!

forget Wolfenstein. I'll stick to the carpel tunnel inducing keyboard mouse setup...while I phone around and see if any of the local shops have this beaut in stock.

I'm tempted to pick this up based on <a href="http://xbox.ign.com/articles/399/399946p1.html" target="_blank">IGN's review</a> because it certainly sounds like a god damned blast. Sure Apex had piqued my interest but when it comes down to it I really like crashing my pretend cars in games (like those microprose formula 1 sims of old) and seeing the destruction flood the screen.

Something apex doesn't have...I've tried.

Can't find it anywhere retail-wise but Ballbusters had it just come in so I'm giving it a rent.

The sense of speed on this game is crazy. Still working through the initial 'lessons' as I've yet to partake in any of the high octane crash n bash madness that's been touted in reviews and ads for this game.

Graphics aren't as sharp as Apex but who really cares when you're veering through traffic all nuts, like that Highlander movie or Ronin, and building up the booster meter.

It's quite fun...as a testament, I nearly burned our salmon last night playing this game absorbed into it.

God damned this game is addicting. Finished the tests with solid gold and went on to the championship races.

You have no idea how satisfying it is to catch up to the leader of the race, going head to head/side-by-side for a little bit, then when hitting an intersection with traffic going through...you nudge the foolish computer into a huge on-coming bus stealing first place. The replay of it brings an evil grin to my face.

The Crash mode is digital crack as far as I'm concerned. Just speeding along to string together a combination of crashes to nab a high score is unbelievable.

Is it sick and depraved to hope for a sequel where the driver/passengers/victims of said crashes come flying out of the vehicles adding more 'real-ness' to the carnage? Couldn't be any worse than Carmageddon/Soldier of Fortune...to avoid controversy from the media they could at least make it an easter egg you have to earn.

I likes it a lot. Must get this game now...
