Just got this tonight, had been meaning to for a long time.

I know there's a lot of love for it here. Is it really that great?

Played it on my friend's GBA SP. Thought it was fucking awesome. All of the reviews I've read on it say it's awesome, and IGN gave it a 9.7, plus their...

Golden Sun is the best SNES RPG you never played and you could even call it a FF game and it would still fit (It's THAT good).

GS2 will also take your Save files fomr one so its like one big ass game!

Golden Sun was awesome for me and I would think it would be the same for anyone who played Chrono, Mana, FF3, Breath of Fire etc etc

Now if FF:Tactics would finally come out

One of my favorite RPGs but Devin is right, some of the dialogue is mind numbing. When/if you beat it be sure to wait until the end of the credits for a final save option. The "Clear Save" lets you move some of your crap/levels/cash to GS2.

I started this on a GBA emulator, too, and I intend to finish it at some point. The commercials for the 2nd one have me really excited for that. Does the first game have anything as spectacular as the magic and stuff we're seeing in those new commercials?

Yeah, the spells for GS2 are almost identical to GS1, there are just a lot more of them.

resisting the urge to pick this up and lose more units of my life away.

Between work, reviewing, playing windwaker, posting on chud mb, and driving around all over the freakin' place...I just don't have time. Unless someone can hook me up with Morgan Freeman/Micheal Statham to do the driving for me, I'll have to hold out on this game.

Certainly don't miss the shitty dialogue, so that gets me through.

And here I thought buying the super duper gameboy would entice me to buy the games I've been meaning to play (metroid, castlevania's, monkeyball, re-incarnated mario games).

Terrific game, i've actually been playing it lately...about 3 hours into it. I LOVE the music. The battle system is extremely fluid and just as good as any console RPG's system, which is surprising.

Also, I cannot wait for Tactics Advance to come out. My friend has the import and is over 50 hours into it and he says he's only halfway done, if that.
