Trading In

This sort of came up in The Thing thread, and I found it interesting. I've always felt that trading in games at places like EB is a rip-off. You can trade in a perfectly good, recent game, and get a tiny discount on a new game. Like, what, five or ten bucks? And the shop then resells your game for almost full price. It's frightening that you can trade in three great games, and not have enough credit to get one new game free.

This is why whenever I decide some games have got to go in order to afford new hotness, I sell 'em on ebay. At least that way I know I can get a halfway decent price, dictated by me, and the money comes to me, not some shop.

Just curious as to what everyone else's take on the subject is...

EB redefine the term daylight robbery. I shop at the local EB store only because there's not much choice where I currently live... I've never had a pleasant experience with them.

Ebay on the other hand are a much better bet for getting rid of games. Make sure you put "RARE" in your title description (even if it isn't actually rare) plus a couple dozen exclamation marks, to jack up the potential price by another tenner.
