The THING Xbox Issues

Good Morning. Last night I anxiously purchased my long awaited copy of "The Thing", when I arrived home to play it I was thrilled to have myself thrust into the setting of one of my favorite films (and who wouldn't be?). What I was not thrilled by was the cinematic sequences having minor stuttering issues. Gameplay itself is very clean, but the cut scenes would skip a little, only graphically, the audio remains crisp. I bought a console to avoid this kind of thing.
Is this a software/hardware issue or do I just need to clean the laser? Any suggestions?

I'd buy a disc cleaner, even if it doesn't help with this particular problem. Between my DVD, PC, and three consoles, and my dusty apartment, I have many lenses to keep clean.

Yeah, Good advice. I suppose it's inevitable that those lenses get buggered what with all of the dirty rental DVD's and games that I run through my poor home entertainment equipment. Thanks for your reply, I never was very good at connect the dots.

Well, of course, it could just be a defective disk. wink

I have the game on PS2, so I can't help much with it on X-Box. But I can say my copy of Dead to Rights on the xbox has locked up several times...

I have the PC version and it's bugged as hell. I played through the game only to discover that it locked up in the finale cut scene. I downloaded tha patch, only to discover that it doesn't work in my machine (and many others as I've seen in the official message board). I tried to uninstall and reinstall only to discover that the game now refuses to do so. One hell of a rush job.

A shame, since it's pretty fun. Not as good as it could have been, but not bad.
