Help on PS2 Games

Getting a game for someone who doesn't really know what he wants and I don't know either. He has Timesplitters 2 and loves that, is definitely into killing people games. I thought GTA:VC, but he supposedly doesn't like that series. Any suggestions?

Dead To Rights or Max Payne. And both of them are great if he likes a lot of shoot-em-up/action films.

How about Bond? Nightfire just came out, and Agent Under Fire is a greatest hit now.

Plus, you probably couldn't go wrong with Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Now THAT'S a killing people game...

You get to kill a WHOLE LOT of guy in Red Faction 2... but, that's part of why the game isn't too good... there are way too many people to kill, if such a thing can be said...

But I think if he is really into killing people, you cant go wrong with Vice City. Thats pretty much THE killing people game right now.

Anything listed above is fine as long as you buy it from EB and save the receipt, he has 14 days to exchange.

If he likes LOTR, The Two Towers game is a blast, and simple to play, and violent as hell.

Lots of good choices in this thread...Hitman 2's another great "killing people" game.

Really can't go wrong with any of them....

If he doesn't have it, you can't go wrong with Metal Gear Solid 2... well, you can't go wrong with it until about half way through...

Everyone said my first choices on killing games. Some more killing games are The Thing even though you are killing aliens and it's hard as hell. There is also the first Red Faction which isn't as hard as Red Faction 2 and it's on the greatest hits so it's $20. Deus Ex is a fun killing games and so is Devil May Cry, both are pretty short though.

Twisted Metal Black is a whole lotta mindless fun... (And it's just hard enough that he own't beat it in the first night of playing..)

For the holidays EB is giving up until January 15th to return stuff.

Well I wouldn't say that Metal Gear Solid 2 is about killing people, it's more stealth oriented. I'd go with Devil May Cry, quite short yes, but insanely fun and very replayable. Or Onimusha 2.

MGS 2 is all about the damn 40 minute cutscenes.
I am so not getting there...
...but I am. I own MGS2, and its a good game with a compelling story, but sometimes it had me saying "come on, let me get back to the game now."
Nah, I was just saying that because if I go into MGS2 defense mode, I can easily hijack a thread for a while (go see the splinter cell thread for proof).
