Gamecube Preview DVD

I got this disc in the mail the other day and have been trying to play it on my dvd players (set-top & pc) with no luck.

Anyone else get these bastards from Blockbuster? I've read a few months ago that these discs would be bundled with Nintendo Power, another games mag, and available at Compusa...but until yesterday I've never seen them.

Figures the damn thing won't work...not a scratch or blemish on the disc but still squat.

Got mine from EB.

I got one through the mail from Blockbuster. It worked for me on my DVD player.

Sorry to hear it doesn't work for you. I wonder if you can play it on a PS2. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants?

It does! Nothing funnier than looking through Gamecube games using a PS2 controller...

They're on display at Gamestop...

I picked this disc up at Toys R Us a few weeks ago but haven't watched it yet.

So why am I posting a response? I have no idea!

At Gamestop, they had one of these in their demo PS2. Ha! Haha!

I got one in my Nintendo Power. Kinda cool, but nothing earth-shattering.

There's usually a little box of them on the camera counter in Target stores... near the games case.

I haven't watched mine yet, either.

Speaking of Gamecube games....since I just got one of these babies...what games should I get?

*And for some reason I think I have posted this before seeing how I have some strange deja-vu. There is a glitch in the Matrix!

CTD:

You should get Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0 and the REmake, Super Smash Bros: Melee, and Super Mario Sunshine to start off. Those are some of the better/premier titles. Also, Skies of Arcadia Legend is coming next month, and it's supposedly excellent.

not on the list (but should've been) would be:

star wars rogue squadron rogue leader, super monkey ball 1 and/or 2...
You forgot Timesplitters 2 (if you don't have it already), Rogue Leader, Animal Crossing, and both Super Monkey Balls.

Rogue Leader and Monkey Ball 1 go for about $30 these days too.

Before you get any new games CT, head to your local EB and put some cash down on the new Zelda game coming out in a few months. If you reserve your copy you will get a free disk with Ocarina of Time and Ura Zelda on it.

That promotion starts on Feb. 16. So hold off on preordering until then.

It will be a late birthday present to myself (4 days after, thank you).

Actually you can go ahead and preorder now, you get the free games in February.

I just got myself a GC as well, and I've been playing the hell out of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters. Still can't beat Destroyah though....

Use long range attacks where possible - he's lethal up close. Good advice for any battle is to throw as much scenery at them as you can to wear down their health, then let rip with the powered-up beam attacks.

Just wait til you fight Mecha-Godzilla. He's a bitch.

Ugh. mecha-Godzilla is such a bitch. Took me forever to get past him. then you get to do it all over again!! wow, the single-player mode left something to be desired...
