how's the difficulty level on the various missions?

It kinda depends on how hard you want it to be...meaning, if you don't go out and upgrade some critical skills out of laziness, such as the various upgrades to your shooting capabilities...it'll be a tough ride.

It's critical you at least get the positional targeting down, as well as the quicker reticule upgrades. Without them, you'll be killing too many innocents...yet alone dealing with one annoying as hell boss in a later act.

I'm of the mind the kung fu moves, on the bonus driving missions and not the 24/7 shops, is not worth wasting an upgrade on. You're better off getting a faster car or more powerful gun.

And driving...it's essential to go and upgrade your wheel talents in tandem with your shooting. Especially when it's demanded that you recover X-object without destroying it completely. In which shooting the tires out of cars is a no brainer.

Overall difficulty wise. It's a little challenging depending on what the game throws at you, but I found the story based missions a walk in the park until you reach the second half of the narrative. Which is when you'll need to concentrate on making your copper a fighting machine badass. The minigames are hell though. Absolute hell when it comes to attempting to upgrade your gun skills in the targeting range, for say the laser/scope upgrades.

It's here where I'll concede fps games benefit from mouse/keyboard aiming...even though the us-n-them console/pc war of words is unnecessary.

This game is so totally overhyped. Yeah, they got kick ass voice actors, but the graphics are sub-par and the controls are heinously bad. I'm not enjoying it at all.

This game is a lot of fun.

This game is fucking fantastic. It takes a lot of good elements from several great games and mixes them together to make a very fun and creative hybrid.

Great fun game. Nothing like GTA really, aside from the basic set-up. Much more structured, with exploration restricted to the incredibly fun street crimes that you can choose to respond to.

It is quite glitchy though - I've only been playing it one night and there's been a lot of camera quirks and a few occasions where I've managed to roll through solid objects.

It pisses all over The Getaway though.

The General. I wished there was some sure fire tactic with him too, info that could help you. Me, I found myself mashing on a bunch of buttons hoping to connect. The load screen offered the tip that when fighting you should keep tabs on his posture and attack accordingly.

I think that kind of helped when he was crouching low with me kicking high...or, was that the other way.

Took quite awhile to get the good ending. The bonus movie is cute, but nothing special.

Only now have I been finding the screwy assed glitches Whitehead speaks of. In my case, I was chasing down some speed racers in the burbs, did an emergency break and found myself on the other side of a brick fence. There was no way out, leaving me to restart the game. Which kind of sucks.

Just unlocked the dogg patrol mode, with Snoop, the other night. I was hoping for a full fledged story mode with him, but it turns out it's a crazy taxi-esque romp around LA, and you get ranked on the number of crimes you solve. So far, I suck getting only a nice big fat F.

Beat the General using only low kicks and the punch. Just keep going on him but making sure to watch out when he draws both hands back.

Also run around and pick up the pipes and throw them at him. That way you win...

And yes it took me awhile to figure that out and OH MY was he hard...

About midway through the game I figured out that constant low kicks always got me through the fighting levels. It got me through the General on my first attempt, I thought the hardest fighting level was the one with the two Asian spirit ladies.

I liked this game but I finished it far quicker than I had anticipated. Is there something other than the main story that I'm really missing out on? I didn't do much of the crime patrol stuff, unless it was conveniant for me.

I guess I'm going to trade this one in while it's still hot. Does anyone know who will give more store credit, EB Games or Gamestop? I think I'm going to use as much credit as I can to get the new "Medal of Honor."

I believe the game is designed to be played through several times to get different endings depending on what you do. There are certain missions where using a different approach will take the game down a new story path. Nothing radical, but there's definitely replay value here.

Holy crap are the last few levels easy. The ancient Wu level was kind-of tough but the rest of the game was like starting over again in the level of difficulty. Of course it helps that I had a Desert eagle shooting hollow points.

I beat the general on the second try. The key is to just take your time. Don't get too close to him but don't run away. When you see him start to attack, go for him. If he does the two-handed punch, you'll have an opening to jump kick him as well. When you have him stunned, do a Dragon Kick.

I need to find those Dogg bones.

Just took this game back to the video store. Only made it alittle less than half way through but it was a fun game despite it's flaws. The hostage stage was alot of fun, but I swear I think I played it maybe 15 times before I could beat it. Using the Precision Mode while driving is tons of fun.
