Those are the kind of annoucements that make me happy I opted for a GC. Two player mode, getting out of vehicles to fight on foot, piloting a speeder-bike and AT-AT... what else is there to say besides "Yippie!"?
Wow, does that mean this is Grand Theft Auto: Mos Eisley?
Those shots on Gamers.com make me juice.
Hope the on-foot sections are better than Clone Wars, but otherwise this looks sexy.
hehehehe, now that would be cool!

No, it's still not perfect until they add the mission where your only goal is to hunt down and murder Jar Jar Binks!
Wonderful, I've timewarped back to 1999 again!

I hate it when that happens...
Yes! Now there's a fresh idea I can get behind. It's about time somebody started an online hate campaign for Jar Jar Binks. He's got away with universal love and adoration for too damn long.

For such a long time, I felt like I was the only person in the world who could find any sort of conceivable flaw with "The Phantom Menace." Now I know that I am no longer alone. Thank you, kind sir. Thank you.

Those screenshots look great, especially the one from the cockpit of the AT-ST.

I do find it kinda funny they are visiting Hoth yet again. Must be some sort of by-law in these Factor Five games...

Yeah they actually talked about the fact that they always made Hoth-based level in every Rogue game. From the screenshots, it looke like the major addition this time is roping up from underneath the AT-AT and slashing their power unit ala Luke in ESB. Should be sweet.
I hope the Speeder Bike levels will be cool. This game looks pretty damn good!

But I still like the idea of GTA: Mos Eisley...
Did one of those screenshots deceive me? Did I see multiplayer or co-op in there?

Woo-hoo!

Yeah, the multiplayer co-op should be a big draw.

"Nice shooting, Wedge!"

The fact that I don't and will never own a Gamecube bars me from reading this. I don't want to ejaculate today.
This game is going to include all of Rogue Leader (including bonus missions) in two-player coop. Looks like I can sell that one.
I reserved mine today and got the demo disc (which we got today) with the arcade Star Wars game on it.

Nyah!
Wait, are u talking about The Stars Wars sit down shoot'em up game, that's at my local movie theater and whenever I go I always have to play, on a demo-disc, cuz if so where the hell do I get my hands on it???

No, the old-old school original vector-graphics shooter.

Do they have these at Toyrs R Us, or what? Where did you reserve it?
Gamestop, of course.
Oh yeah, I forgot. You weenie. wink

I wonder if TRU and others have the demo disc now? One way to find out...
I would assume so. I think yesterday was the release date for everyone.

Anyway, it's a great disc...having never played the arcade game it's really neat. I love the little sound bites like "use the force" as you're going through the death star trenches, just like in the movie.
You've never played it before?

Why does that make me feel old...

Because you are! wink

When exactly did it come out?

1982.
Yep. I've had the MAME rom for some time now. Don't tell Lucas.

Thanks for the heads up on that demo disk being out. Guess I gotta go pre-order the game today. I'm assuming the Hoth level demo is not going to be on any magazine cover disk?
I think that would be a pretty safe assumption, dude.
Another Star Wars game. Yawn.
Yeah, you'd think they would stop making them, what with how unpopular the Star Wars name is.

EB got no mofuckin demo disk. EB man was like shit foo you can reserve the fuckin thing anyway. I was all like fuck that shit sucka. Then he started swingin and I had to lay his punk ass out in front of all the ladies.

(Actually he apologized and recommomended I try back in a few days. I said thanks and went back to work.)
WOO HOO! I just picked up my demo from EB. They only had 3 left or so...now I have Star Wars on the PC, XBox and GC. GOD I need a life!
Why the fuck my search for Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike didn't bring this thread up but just using Rebel Strike did I don't understand. (thank you kindly Singer) 8.3 from IGN, but that was based almost completely on the non-vehicle missions being crap. Almost everything else is improved from RS2. I think I might trade in Viewtiful Joe for this after work.
Picked up Rebel Strike yesterday. So far I'm pretty much digging it. The on-foot missions have a crappy ass camera and the control is a little floaty...but ya know what...it's still fun running around blasting troopers in a Robotron sorta way. Graphics are outstanding. The flight levels so far are top notch as usual. The on-foot stuff just adds a bit of variety. The opening is hilarious - don't want to spoil it for ya.

The cut scenes rock though...there are tons of clips from the original trilogy that serve as cutscenes between some missions. They are absolutely Widescreen DVD quality. So they serve as a nice preview of the DVD's quality -whenever- they come out.
Now I just need to decide on this, Crimson Skies or Castlevania. All three systems representing on this fine Tuesday.
I reserved this for the kick ass demo disc and didn't realize it was out. I should go pick it up I guess.
Anyone getting the occasional odd black screen in between scenes while a cutscene is playing? I wonder if you can boil Gamecube disks like you can Xbox?
I'm sorry, I could've sworn I just saw someone mention "trading in Viewtiful Joe". HERESY!
Dammit, I ordered mine straight from LucasArts but it has yet to arrive.
Don't worry Master Cunningham. Rebel Strike wasn't supposed to ship/hit streets until Friday.
How does it compare to Clone Wars? That wasn't a joke. I dug the hell out of that game.
I don't think I'd compare it to Clone Wars at all, it's a different developer.

As for how it stacks up to Rogue Leader, it's just as good, disregarding the on-foot missions.
Please tell me they cut out a lot of the escort missions in this game. The problem I had with Rouge Leader was the last level was unplayble, there was to many escort like missions, and all these missions seem have an invisible time limit which make you rush the mission. I still enjoy it though just not as much I was hoping for.
