I agree with ya on the Ico cover, I love it: it's just as unusual as the game. i got the digi pack version of the european release which has the picture posted a few messages above on the outside and has a terrific looking image of Yorda in total darkness looking at a window/door bathed in sunlight on the cover of the case itself. fantastic!
I prefer the European GTA3 cover:

As for the FF games, I prefer them just to use the Anamo designed logo's on the cover of the games. they're absolutely fantastic.
as for classic games, I love the ones for The Immortal (sega genesis - this very cool looking Grim Reaper dude on the cover), Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, the covers of the second and third Gabriel Knight games, Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon and Prince of Persia (the pc version and the japanese SNES cover, which is stunning as well). unfortunately, try as I may, I can't find The Immortal Genesis., ZakMcKracken or the SNES Prince of Persia ...

I hate the fact that almost nobody uses normal artwork anymore, everything has to be computer imagery. I loved all the old Nes, SNES and Sega Genesis games with the artwork by cool artists like Brom, Vallejo etc. though there's still quite a bit of that happening with PC games, it's rare to see some really cool artwork on console titles... GTA3 and the european version of ICO really are exceptions...
