Man I can't wait. My dad ordered GameCube w/SSBM and All Star Baseball 2003...

...and he preordered this baby. It's gonna be so damn nice...

Anyone getting it? (dumb question probably)

I'm getting it. Tuesday morning at 10 AM, I'll be at Best Buy.
I was there today, and I noticed they are already selling the strategy guide. I looked through it for some eye-candy, and there is some amazing looking stuff in there. I read some of the summary lines and it seems that Capcom has added MUCH more horror to the game. I've also read elsewhere that the GCN version is over 70% different than the original. Wow. It won't be the same game at all. I've already got a weekend "survival horror" party planned. Assbag and I are reliving what we did several summers ago, staying up all night, scaring ourselves silly. I'm going to buy it on Tuesday but I won't play it until Friday night. I'm going to start playing at about 1 AM so that by the time I finish the game, or fall asleep, it will be dawn, so I won't have to go to sleep in the dark. Perhaps the game won't be THAT terrifying, but I sure hope it is.

Three words- Giant Wasp nests.

Three more words- Jaws-like Sharks

Yeah, i'll probably piss myself.

I can't wait for some of the REALLY jumpy stuff, like the dogs jumping through the windows, and the zombies that you can't see until you turn a corner and they're already gnawing on you, and trying to stay alive fighting Hunters.

...yeah, I'll probably want to wait until the sun comes up to go to sleep.

I reserved mine and will hopefully have it on Wednesday.

The only issue I have as of right now is that the control scheme has apparently remained the same. I have always thought that the control scheme makes this was one of the most frustrating games to play.

But I still can't wait to savor it's beauty and finally have a premier Gamecube title.

I think I'm going to have access to a digital projector this weekend, so I'm going to project RE up on the wall in my basement.

DEATH.
MMMM..... RE Gamecube goodness....

If you ask at Best Buy, they will probably sell it to you tomorrow (they get games in the previous Friday and if people ask, most of the time they will sell it before the street date).
yes, I'm sure the music will keep the adrenal glands working overtime. The music was one of the best and scariest parts of the original.

Openning Dialogue:
Barry:"wow. what a mansion!"
Jill:"Where's Chris?"
*runs to front door*
Wesker:"Stop! Don't open that door!"
Jill:"But Chris is..."
*gun shot*
Barry:"What was that?"
Wesker:"It was probably... Chris. Jill. Can you go?"
Barry:"I'm going too. Chris is our old pa--"
Wesker:"Huh, Jill? You think you can handle it? Huh?! Oh, I bet you're really cocky. I bet you remember every last thing from the first time... oh and you can get through the whole mansion in under 2 hours... Good. But I've got a surpirse for you. @_@ HEHEHE! Wesker's got a BIG surprise for you! How are you going to survive this time, Jill? Hmm? What's the matter? Zombie bite your neck??! AAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

...I'm shakin' already. Can't wait for this weekend. My nervous system is already malfunctioning.

Itchy.
Tastey.
Itchy.
Tastey.

I'm thinking about buying a Gamecube just for this game. Oh how I would love for Capcom to port this game to PS2. I loved the first one, and I'm sure I would love this. But scariest game ever? Resident Evil for GC would literally have to make me cream my pants in order for it to beat the Silent Hill series, which in my opinion, is scarier than any movie or game I've ever seen.

It's different for me, actually...

The Silent Hill series is some pretty scary, freaky stuff....horrifying. But, when I think about the context (it's mostly in the main character's mind) I feel sort've comforted. In that respect there is a more human feeling to it all.

The RE series, on the other hand, is just plain horror thrills and chills. To me, it's more "shit your pants" type material.

RE1 has the spookiest atmosphere out of all the RE titles, but rather than me being scared constantly, I wasn't really worried about what I would find around the corner because I was loaded with a shotgun and a ton first aid sprays. But I've read that they've gone through and changed things for people who have mastered the original, so it will be harder and scarier. It has more of a "jump-out-of-your-seat" type of horror to it while SH keeps me spooked throughout the whole experience.

Holy mother of fuck! I was just watching some movies, and came across something COMPLETELY new that will be in the game...and will make it a whole lot tougher....I won't say what it is since some may consider it a spoiler, but...

Go <a href="http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/products/media/0,11100,535836,00.html" target="_blank">here</a> and look at movie #42.

A friend from these here boards is letting the Creeture and I borrow his GC while he's away for a week, and he's getting this beatch today. Can't wait to check it out.

'Silent Hill' was a different kind of horror. It was more Lovecraftian, more nightmarish than 'RE', which was more action/horror oriented. Either way, this game looks leaps and bounds cooler than any 'RE' game yet, it's sure to scare someone.

RE for Gamecube has a delay placed on it. I went to 4 or 5 different places looking for it, and nobody has it yet. They couldn't even tell me when they would get it. They didn't know.

The local Electronics Boutique has RE in right now, and I'm stuck at work, dammit.
Just got mine, EB is selling it today for pre-orders only, next shipment goes to the public, according to the one I went to.
Picked mine up today but I won't be able to play it tonight because I'm off to a movie. Though I may come home and stay up all night playing.

I had somehow missed the fact that it is a 2 disc game. Just like the old days.

Haven't gotten mine yet, should get it tomorrow or Friday at the latest. It's cool though, because since I just got my GameCube today, I have SSBM and All Star Baseball 2003 to hold me over.
Holy crap. Ok, name the most deadly horror film you've ever watched. Name it! This game is leaps and bounds beyond. The graphics are amazingly realistic, the lighting is magnificent, the layout is superb. You will jump in fear of your own shadow at least twice per room!

As I wrote in the other thread, "Best RE game" the fear factor of this game is monstrous (pun intended). Played the original game? Think it'll make things better? False!! Every favorite part of the original game is messed with so much that you will be startled, disoriented, and morphed into a paranoidal freak of torment. By the time HMT and I found the guard house (and playing with a friend in the room does NOT make it less scary), I was ready to hyperventilate. Scared shitless.

Oh, by the way. Make damn sure you have a bit of kerosene with you at all times... Good luck!

Must resist urge to buy....
Must do well on finals...
Good grades more important than splattering zombies...
Itchy...

Dammit I want to play this game so bad but I don't have the money to just go out and buy a Gamecube for one game.
OK this game fucking rocks. It is absolutely beautiful, especially the lighting.

The depth and clarity of the backgrounds is amazing. I am so happy that they can pull off a game like this on the Cube.

And dear Mr. Hexum, there are more reasons to own a Cube than just RE. But we've been over that already.

Heh, I bet I will.

It's almost like I don't want the game to come because it's probably gonna scare the living shit out of me.

How many hours into the game are you? I hope the game will take at least 15-20 hours.

Just read this on the PlanetNintendo RE review:

"These freaks of nature don't take prisoners. Well, actually, they take the parts of prisoners they've ripped apart and eaten. There's an elder "Crimson Head" with bigger talons and a sunburn, a giant spider that explodes with a disgusting hiss as its thorax detaches, a massive and truly spectacular snake named Yawn, a mammoth shark, and the sickest of all survival horror creations (and yes, we're counting the inhabitants of Silent Hill here), a grotesque "thing" called Lisa Trevor. She's the daughter of the mansion architect, and she's been experimented on, locked away, prodded, mutated, and generally mucked about with until her mind snapped. A special virus injected into her means she's indestructible, and the most frightening parts of the game involve you attempting to flee her lumbering steps, fused wrist wallops, and inhuman groaning. She even wears her own mother's skin on her back, and the faces of Umbrella scientists she's taken a fancy to. Great stuff!"

I'm scared to death...

I'm only a little ways in. My biggest concern for the game was the continued use of the frustrating control scheme. But somehow that just fades away when the game is so damn pretty.
Well, i finally got it after going to five! stores. This game is more scare than a virgin sorority girl in Athens. Anyway, now Im gonna go play! Woohoo!
