First Screens of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Found these on the G4 Forums section. The screens are from a scan of a magazine so the quality of the picture isn't the best but it still is good. The 7th pic is really good, the graphic for Vice City look alot better than GTA3. Sorry but I don't know the mag the pics are from so, don't kill me Nick for not giving a link to the mags website.

Loading TERRIBLY slow, but God i've been waiting for these for so long.
Just drag and drop the links to your url bar, they load real quick that way.

Folks, "Out of Touch" is part of the game's soundtrack.

So is "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight".

Look at #4.

God I can't wait.....

I want this game in my pants right now. From the caption in pic 4, it sounds like the cops will actually be after more crooks than just you. That's something that always ticked me off about GTA3. There were rarely other crimes going on, and when they're were, the cops never went for them. Nope, they always go for you.

But GTA:VC sounds like they've fixed that. And there are GOLF CARTS, for shit's sake.

How excited am I?

I'm listening to Cutting Crew right now. As I type this.

Those links don't work.
I only looked at two pics because they are taking a while to load. But they're from Game Informer magazine, which I have a subscription to. I cannot wait until this issue shows up in my mailbox. Oh momma, I want. NOW.

I hope they have Chatterbox again as a radio station, I loved that it thought parts of were hilarious. I also loved the commercials, pets in the mail anyone.
You're my hero, terror_mike. If what they said about Ray Liotta voicing the main character is true....

I'm gonna play as Henry FUCKING Hill!?!?!?

This is a dream come true....

They're making it sort of a Goodfellas thing. This is way too good to be true. I'm gonna feel guilty playing such a good game. I don't even think we deserve it....

More info from those PSX Extreme boards:

Set 20 years before its predecessor, Vice City introduces us to a new hero, Tommy Vercetti, a former street soldier for the Forelli brothers who has recently been released from an extended prison stay. As a reward for his silence, a young Sonny Forelli sends Tommy to Vice City to expand their criminal empire....."

Stunned. Those are absolutely beautiful.
Well, you know, the board that I go to often has one of the producers at Rockstar on it...so, we're kind of lucky. wink
post #20 of 32
This needs to be in a CHUD update STAT.

Praise the lord and pass the peanuts - now where's my damn congressional medal of honor for going to such "great" lengths to bring this to the video game chewers? j/k of course.

BTW, the article that this in is in this mag:

<img src="http://www.gameinformer.com/sep02cov.jpg" alt="" />

And OPM will have a feature on this as well next month. The Getaway, GTA:Vice City, and Driver 3 - man I do love being a gamer.

The funny thing was that I wasn't even that hyped about GTA:VC, because I thought that DMA would just give you the same game set in a different time period. Then looking at these screens they really made alot of changes in only a year's time, maybe DMA should share their secret with the guys who make Tomb Raider.

Anyway after the last holday season I didn't think it could be topped, but wow this season it going to rock.

Seems like they did - since Angel of Darkness (The new TR) is different from it's original counterparts (from what I've heard and seen).
The thing that made GTA3 so hard to make and why it took so long was the technology (like Renderware) and just building the city and the AI. That's all built now. All they have to do is move pieces around, repaint some textures, re-record new voice overs and they're done. But, they've done so much more here. I think it's safe to say that you can call this GTA 4, even though no one at Rockstar or DMA calls it that.

The fact is - no. It's just a whole new game. In the GI article, Rockstar North explains that they believe the GTA games encompass a whole universe. It simply can't be GTA4 because of the fact that it's in a different time period and has so many different things.

It's not an add-on nor a sequel but speaking as it's been so improved over GTA3...wow.
Electronics Bo-TIQUE is having a special on this game...trade in two random titles* and Vice City is 15 bucks.

*It's a large list that they'll accept, but of course some games will be excluded, due to being un-resellable.

What is the street date again?

Dear God... must not die until then...

Big thanks for the news. I'm not sure why, but there's been a really tight lid on this game. Usually sites like ign and gamespot have a glut of info (especially this close to the release), but all I've found so far is that it's set in 1980's Miami. A larger city, more weapons, more voices/music--this is my most anticipated game this year.
