X-Box Live

Thread Starter
While this isn't a thread on any certain game, mainly just some early morn ramblings about the fun I've been having the past few days.

People on X-Box Live are cool. They really are, and my best guess is that voice chat is the chief reason. Sure, while the games are somewhat the main reason to pop on over online, basically chatting up people across the country is an interesting diversion.

There isn't this cold anonymous bull-shit that you find on pc games. None of the stupid moronic elite sp33q or just outright rudeness to your fellow gamer. That's what struck me so odd the first few times I loaded up Midtown and drove around playing tag or collect the gold. None of these people were rude, and a lot of them were chatty talking a variety of subjects...from the bc/america softwood lumber dispute to modifying the x-box for a bigger hard drive.

Though it was midtown madness and not wolfenstein multiplay where your blood gets pumping and agressiveness jacked up...so I've yet to see what that crowd is like.

So, how have people been treating you on live lately?

I've ran into quite a few dicks on the ole X-Box live, and lots of small children too, who don't know proper multiplay etiquette.

It's only bad on the aggressive games like Mongy mentioned. Mech assualt especially now that it's given away with the live kit But games like Midtown Madness are great. Everyone's all about having fun. I

I've had many great experience and will definitely renew my subscription come November.

That's a shame considering Mech Assualt could be damn fun multiplayer.

Mech Assault IS damn fun still. You just gotta roll with the punches. They fuck with you, you just fuck with em back. It's harmless.

Sides' the final authority is how good you are so if you win, then you can trash talk all you want and if you lose, then you only have yourself to blame.

Who has downloaded the updated Dashboard?

I have only linked my gamertag through XBOX.com. Which is pretty cool.

Microsoft is getting things together.

I rented Midtown Madness, and upon joining one game, I was immediately greeted with "Man, if my name was eyeball kid I'd shoot myself in the head."

So I have to disagree with the theory.

heh, I've used that insult many a times. Might've been me

Still, it's a light hearted one. If you really want to get trash talked to death, Mech Assualt is it. The word "fagot" is utter nearly every 2.4 seconds. Lots of immaturity there.

I've played quite a few games on Live, and with very few exceptions, the random people I play with are largely amicable and mature.

Midtown Madness attracts a nice bunch, but so does Wolfenstein, Soldier of Fortune II, and ESPN Football.

From what I've heard, Unreal Tournament is the biggest magnet for l33+ d00dz, but I haven't felt an itch to buy that game anyways. I honestly expected Live to be a lot worse in this regard, but fortunately, everyone is real laid back. Some people aren't very talkative, but when playing in big groups or non-team games, it's not that big a deal.

I just got the new Live upgrade last night. Looking forward to chatting with a few Chewers soon.

Most of the people playing on Live are nice and ver fun to talk with, it does a lot to the game but every now and then you get a complete asshole but the great thing is you could easly just ban or vote him off.

I only play Wolfenstien and Unreal since thats all I have, Wolfenstien gets a lot more of time but Unreal is still fun, you can die the second you respawn though. Midtown Madness is great too and once I played for aout 3 hours with the same people on the team and we had some nice talks.

The one thing I really hate about Live though, and this happens to me quite a lot in Wolfenstien is when you just kicked off no reason at all. The youngest person I have ever had playing on my team was 6 years old which was odd since he was playing Wolfenstien. I have never seen a woman on live either.

While playing Midtown Madness, there have been a lot of people from the UK. About half of them have been women.

I've met some really cool people. There can be some real assholes, though, and I never hesitate to kick them (if i'm hosting the game) or try to tell them off.
