Your dream game based on a film?

I think a MMORPG based on Blade Runner would be so incredible, if the technology was there to make a giant cityscape with working cars, flying vehicles, moonbuses, etc. You'd be able to be a regular cop, Blade Runner (with lots of training and written tests, think Jedis in Star Wars Galaxies), street punk, normal citizen with a job, or even a replicant, though I'm not sure how that would work out with their 4-year life span. I'd like to make a trip to check the moonbus wreck out on the kipple from the Blade Runner PC game, this time in full 3d.

A Halloween game based on the Clock Tower engine (Clock Tower parts 1 and 2, not so much 3)

either that or a Robocop or Judge Dredd game based on the GTA III engine.

A Star Wars bounty hunter console game that actually lets you go from planet to planet tracking your quarry, in a ship.

a Transformers game that is about the old school heros of cybertron

A multiplayer, round based Terminator game with a huge recreation of LA. One player is a bad Terminator of some sort, the other(s) John/Sarah/good Terminator. Round ends with target or bad Terminator is destroyed.

Hmmm....

-- A Warriors real-time strategy game as you try to get your gang back to their home territory, with optional skirmish modes so you can do that Baseball Furies vs. Lizzies match-up we've all dreamed about. Toss in a nifty gang editor so you can whip up your own colors.

-- A Star Wars pod racing game that actually has multiplayer capability.

-- A Baldur's Gate-style Dark Crystal RPG, with a magic system tied in to the patterns of the multiple suns.

-- A RTS based in the Godzilla continuity allowing you to play as any of the main monsters or the Japanese military, with campaign modes for each and a skirmish mode for some real fun.

There was a Terminator for the PC way back when that was pretty much this exact same idea. You got to play as the Terminator or Kyle Reese, and you'd just walk/drive around L.A., robbing banks and gun stores for supplies, and breaking into cars for transportation. I remember playing it back in 1993-ish, and finding it rather advanced for it's time. L.A. was just one GIANT level that just seemed to go on forever.

The only Terminator game I remember from the early 90's was a first person shooter called Terminator Rampage.

The one I'm talking about came out before Rampage, and was actually based on the movie, whereas Rampage had it's own storyline going for it. And it was much more 'primitive' than Rampage (man, that was a lousy game), so I'd say it came out at least 3 years before it.

I think that game was simply titled "The Terminator", or "Terminator: 2029". I think I remember playing this too. I ordered it from a shareware catalog a long time ago. Also, a good Terminator game was Terminator: Skynet. Really big levels that one had. Personally, I can't wait for November's Terminator: War of the Machines. That one looks really cool.

Equilibrium would make a great FPS.

I know the thread is re: movies but a cool book to be adapted would be Wild Cards. You play an Ace or a Joker either designed or randomly generated. It should be open ended a la Morrowind.

Filmwise the suggestions so far are great. I want a really good Western FPS based on Tombstone were you could play any one of the good or bad guys. A good Dr. Who video game would be nice as would a Zatoichi game.

Ever since I watched Equilibrium, I've been trying to think of a way you could capture Gun-kata in a game, and the best I've come up with is some kind of wacky arcade game like Police 911 with like 6 screens surrounding the player.

My idea of Equilibrium would involve having one mouse in each hand, each controlling a gun. Of course, it'd be a real bitch to walk, unless it's a rail-shooter type game. In a console, each thumbstick would control a gun.

A 180 degree arcade screen would kickass, though.

I could think of a few games I would like, but one that I've wanted for a while now is a Star Wars fighting game based on the mechanics of Bushido Blade.

One hit kills, no life-bars, no time limits.

I'd love a 'Dog Soldiers' game.
As a FPS, you could play either the Soldiers and follow (as best you could) the films POV or the Werewolves.

A MMORPG of Total Recall where the players get to not only choose their character (Human or Mutant) but their planet that they will start out on. Earth in the game would be nearly the same as the earth depicted in Minority Report.

Lord of the Rings in the style of Morrowind would be cool, but as some fans are working on a total conversion, that wish will be fulfilled

Id love to see something based on either Dawn of the Dead or all three... i suspect a FPS would work best perhaps a cross between the stealth of Thief, and the shootemup of Quake etc....

A quirky fps/deathmatch game based on Dog Stopped the War would be neat to play. Kinda like Faceball on the really old GB, but powered with the latest Unreal Engine.

Who doesn't want to have a virtual snowball fight that isn't a retarded email chain letter.

edit: original gameboy, not advance.

A Dawn of the Dead game using the GTAIII engine.

I've been dreaming about that for ages now...

There has already been a Nightmare Before Christmas game announced (I really hope that if it does come out, its really cool) so that would be my pick.

A Friday the 13th game where you get to play as Jason. It could be similar to Tenchu, with the stealth kills. That was one of my biggest disappointments as a kid. I get the Friday the 13th game and wind up playing as a gay teen running from Jason.
