Guys...I picked up SOCOM today. Man does this game ever rock in a major way !!! I've been just playing single player cause I attempted to secure a network adapter today to do some online play...but no luck. I will be picking one up in the morning from Best Buy though. So more on the Online Play later.
The single player mode absolutely kicks ass. You guys all probably already know about the Logitech made headset that comes with it. This will of course allow you to communicate with your team members in online games. But the very very COOL thing is this will also allow you to talk with your A.I. team mates in single player through voice recognition. The first time I actually spoke a command to my cpu seal team and then heard them respond back - "Understood Sir" it sent chills down my spine. It feels so realistic. With the headset...all radio chatter comes directly to the headset and not from the regular speakers of your TV. I'm playing this in surround sound and then to hear my players talking to me in my headset was quite cool. And it's actually accurate and works well. As long as you speak clearly they will obey you to a "T".
We need to make some CHUD clans for playing this game online. This one will become very addictive.
