Thread Starter
already posted this in the Creature Corner, bbut thought the video games forum would be into this as well, especially after seeing teh swell of support for SH2 in the best PS2 game thread:

Computer + Video Games posted some very high res images from Silent Hill 3 from the ECTS (the British variant of E3). it looks stunning and horrific! check it out here

think you need to register or something to see them...

Yeah, after you click around a few times it prompts you to register...but it's worth it.

I take my Silent Hill games very seriously.. I sit in my room, with all the lights off, playing in the glow of the TV, scared shitless, but loving every second of it. I can't wait for this game.

I do the same thing, you should also try either surround sound or headphones. I tell Verbal all the time to try to play these games at night but he is too much of a chicken shit to do it. I saw these screens last night, and they seem to have self-shadowing. SH 2 had hints of it, but SH 3 seems to have the effect throughout the game. Way to Konami! Hopefully more developers will stop saying this effect is to complicated to pull off, and start using it more.(Believe me it's worth it). While I'm on the subject, I'm getting sick and tired of with the power this new consoles have that about half the games out there still use a freaking circle underneath the players for a shadow. This shouldn't happen with the power this new consoles have.

Playing a Silent Hill game during the day is like taking a shower with a rain coat on...I think in order to fully enjoy the Silent Hill series, you have to play it by yourself with the lights out. It's some damn good stuff..

I didn't get prompted to register...the trick might be to open each pic as a seperate window, rather than scrolling through the slideshow of all 6?
Or, maybe I just got lucky & got to see all 6 before it triggered the registration daemon.

Not sure if these are the same ones, but here's some more Silent Hill goodness for ya. All I saw of it at ECTS was a trailer, with no in-game footage - but it looks very much in the style of SH2, and is apparently set in a shopping mall.
