Great update, Dan. Any word on whether or not the Godzilla game is coming to a real gaming platform?

First of all, great work, Mr. Whitehead! The "LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring" game sounds very promising.

I know you covered a lot of coverage, but dammit I'm greedy and I want to know if you got to play "Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon"! I'm a big fan of the series and you promised on your previous article that you will be checking this puppy out! I want the inside scoop and goodies, dammit!

Godzilla is a GameCube exclusive. If it's a success, I can't believe Infogrames/Atari wouldn't port it across to PS2.

I didn't get a chance to see Broken Sword, unfortunately. It was unvelied at a private screening, and as I was only there for a day and a half, I just couldn't fit it in. I don't think it was playable anyway, as the game is a long way off release. Still would have been nice to see it though. I did play No-One Lives Forever 2, though. I'll start a seperate thread about it...

I saw and played a lot more games than were covered in the update, so if there's anything anybody wants to know about, just post the title and I'll let you know if I saw or played it.

... and then I realized that a game of that caliber would have probably been in your update...but it never hurts to ask.

No, GTA: Vice City wasn't there, much to my eternal disappointment.

Or if it was, it was hidden away and only shown to special people. Given that it comes out in only a few months, I thought they'd have it on display - even if it was just the trailer playing on a big screen. But I saw nothing on it at all. Now I think about it, I didn't see anything from Take 2 or Rockstar.

hell, we're all gonna buy it anyway... wink

I've already put aside the games I plan to trade in for it, and cancelled all social engagements between October and Easter 2003.

Ah but you saw The Getaway - and golly, I so want that game.

That Ghost Master game sounds an awful lot like the Sega Genesis game "Haunted".
If its half as good as Haunted, I'll giv'er a shot.

Saw it and played it. It's absolutely gorgeous. Very tough though.

I just remembered, according to the demo pod at the show, The Getaway has now been put back to early 2003.

Boo.

Yeah, very good update Dan. Lots of fun to read and informative. PLUS: pretty pictures.

Getaway early 2003? Shit....

That's ok, we're gonna have GTA: VC

Great stuff Dan. Any info on Brute Force?
Well, hey, gives them even more time to work on it.

Yep, had a go on that. It's not a huge leap on from THPS3 - just the usual tweaks and improvements to the tricks and combos. The graphics are amazing though - a definite improvement in that area.

Okay, that Godzilla game is almost enough to get me to buy a GameCube.

As I said in my write-up, I expect the game will actually be pretty bad. But it's GODZILLA! And therefore I will still extract entertainment from it. Did I mention it has a FOUR PLAYER BATTLE mode?
