"SO Gene Simmons, the outrageous frontman for the painted popsters KISS, found himself the other night sitting at the next table in Elaine's to one of his heroes, Kirk Douglas.
Gene introduced himself to the screen legend and they had a pleasant chat. When he departed, Kirk's friend Bobby Zarem mentioned that
Simmons has written a book in which he boasts of bedding some 2,500 fans, allegedly including Cher and Diana Ross. "But he's got nothing on you, Kirk," Zarem joked.
"Yeah," Douglas replied, "I stopped counting at 2,500."
