John Travolta Sacks Manager

From IMDB (http://us.imdb.com/PeopleNews/)

Hollywood star John Travolta has fired his manager and film producer Jonathan Krane. Travolta's publicist confirmed on Thursday the two has parted ways and Krane would not be listed in the credits for Travolta's forthcoming project Basic. Travolta's career has been waning in recent years with a series of flops such as Domestic Disturbance, Battlefield Earth and The General's Daughter. Krane made a deal with Travolta after the Look Who's Talking trilogy in the early 1990s. Reports say Krane was never paid as a manager, but took production credit on each movie Travolta starred in.

John just bought a 747 from Qantas Airlines.

This actually happened the very weekend after "Domestic Disturbance" came out, but they delayed all the announcing and what-not to make it not look like a direct reaction of that while they divided up the corporate stuff.

This sounds like a wise decision, assuming Krane had direct influence on Travolta's recent project choices.

That's interesting Jack and thanks for sharing. Smart decision to handle it this way....

Krane's a bit nuts. At the "Swordfish" junket, he was talking a little trash about Joel Silver (I almost had to punch him - but Lord Joel was in the other room and heard everything. When he walked by moments later, he shot a withering glance at Krane) and was acting as if high as a kite (not saying he was [no libel case to be found on CHUD boards], just he talked rapid-fire and manic as all hell, waving his arms, sweating like a maniac, like a man drowning and hoping to stay afloat through sheer volume of words).

My cassette from the junket is bizarre as he just rants and rants and rants in a neverending sprawl of insanity about how Hollywood has done this and that to him and how he's writing a huge tell-all book about it called "Krane on Producing." He goes and goes and goes getting crazier and crazier about what a great guidebook it'll be for anyone who wants to go into producing, a veritable bible and suddenly you hear me pipe in and go, "Damn, dude! When's it getting published?"

If Krane ever goes through with it and writes this book, I'm sure it'll be one of the most bizarrely interesting/entertaining books ever written about H-wood.

Sounds like me when taking an angry caller...

I thought the Scientologist were picking his movie roles. And wasn't the General's Daughter a hit?
