Mills Lane had a stroke in his home and was in the intensive care unit Tuesday. Friends said the 64-year-old Lane was found unconscious about 11:30 a.m. Monday. Lane, a former NCAA boxing champion, was re-elected to a six-year term as a district judge in 1996. As a referee, he gained national attention when he disqualified Mike Tyson for biting off part of Evander Holyfield's ear in 1997. Afterward, he began appearing on talk shows and resigned from the bench in 1998
to start a TV show and open a Reno law firm.
