IT'S Mick Jagger vs. Robert Redford in a race to see who can make a movie first about Che Guevara. Jagger's gung-ho with his flick, "Tania," about the love story between the Communist revolutionary and an East German spy. Although
Ananova.com reports Antonio Banderas has signed on to play Guevara, a rep for Jagger said, "There was a meeting, but it is too premature - the script isn't even finished." Meanwhile, Redford wants Benicio Del Toro to play Che in "The
Motorcycle Diaries," which chronicles Che's journey across South America. Both are to shoot next fall but one source told Ananova, "Jagger knows that if Redford gets his movie on screen first, they are dead and buried." NY POST/PAGE SIX...

Oh, and I have this to add: With all the cool figures in the world to make films about, why in the Hell are three decently sized if not major players seeking to do Che all at the same time? Shit, two of you split off and go do something else, 'kay? Che and Freida Kahlo can go blow, someone needs to do a flick about the secret Russo-Sino War that happened in the sixties. Satellites still see the corpses of a thousand tanks blown out and dead on the Mongolian border, the largest tank battle in history in the largest undeclared action in history, between Russia and China, and nobody makes a fucking movie about it.

Hollywood is all dildoes.
