"CHINATOWN" director Roman Polanski is set to return to the U.S. after 25 years on the lam. Polanski, 68, was busted in 1977 after cops charged he'd had sex with a 13-year-old girl at Jack Nicholson's house. He was charged with six
offenses including rape, and pleaded guilty to sex with a minor, but fled to France before he was sentenced. According to Los Angeles TV station KTLA, Polanski's lawyer is negotiating a deal with the L.A. district attorney to avoid jail time if he comes back. The woman, now 38 and living in Hawaii, says she has no objections to Polanski's homecoming.
