I WAS SET UP!!!!
Clarification -- everything I read indicated we were all on the ground floor of this house. We're in a living room, it's never mentioned we went upstairs, and aside from Volte mentioning going "downstairs to the kitchen," it seems fairly implicit we're on the ground floor.

Now, did I just fling myself out a second story window or not?
Um...I'd say you were on the ground floor...cause living rooms typically are even in grandiose mansions. But also readily available in swankier digs are many dens, studies, and ancilliary living spaces. But when I wrote the 'war room' part it was on the ground floor.

P.S. Not sure what Logan is cooking. But I think the BOOM is related to the tripwire Fett and I encountered. If that's the case the window is coming out of your wages, punk.
Yeah, I'm wondering whose house it's at.
For the record, it is an unrecognized pager. Now I am going to read what you kids are up to since I posted yesterday... be back.
Okay, I had assumed everyone was on the ground floor of Capella's mansion. Including the old man, in his bed, wheezing and coughing while all his trusted men jump out the windows.

The BOOM is on a nondescript pager left in the mansion. It could be either... Damn I am sneaky.
Ah crap, I missed the line about the old man still being in the house.

Hey, I did say everybody out....

Okay, heroic backpeddaling now ensues.
Okay, I've gotten myself to the don's room. I'm holding there in case anyone else decides to be heroic. Either post or PM me if you plan on heading there as well.

Wasn't me...

I bet it was an associate of that Chinatown bitch.

Let me catch everyone up real quick.

Rath – Forbes “Echelon” McCready has returned to work and is penning mystery letters.

Capteucalyptus – Othello “The Mad Moor” Redman is at the safehouse watching Tivoli. Rumor has it that Tony Ryan - Mickey "Mouse" Hoffman either bought it or disappeared on his first assignment for Weasel.

Imperator GAC – Vinnie “The Vain Bull” Mancuso, Blunt – Virgil “Angel Face” Abrizza, and Waco – Lou “Dice” Ricelli are in between disposing of a body and plotting how to track down Tivoli

Katanga – Roman Caravaggio and Fett – Frank “Tobi” Tobiasi are at the house of Salvatore Bosca, where they just felled another assassin's attempt on their own lives

Verbal – Tony “The Fist” Delpino, Voltes – Dino “Baby Bull” Morinelli, and Poxy – Paulie “The Jester” DiVialoso are all located in Capella's mansion, fleeing the area due to a potential bomb threat. This includes wheeling the injured Don himself out of the house

Dan Whitehead – Jimmy Palooka has watched in disgust as Blofeld – Tony “Alto” was accidentally whacked along with "Hank", a dim-witted extra that caused the damage. Whithead's gun-running operation for Avery's people was abandoned after the death by the remainder of his crew

Linh Lao has done nothing more (officially in posts) than arrive in Chinatwon.

Up to speed?

I'm at a loss on what to do next. I should've PMed Poxy and told him that I was on my way to Capella. And, dammit, Tony, why'd you pussy out? I just don't see my character abandoning Capella. I gotta think a bit more.

And, yes, we're on the ground floor. When I said "downstairs to the kitchen," I meant the basement.
Yeah, I waited until I got home from work, saw no one had done anything, and took the initiative. Hey, that's how you move up in the ranks!
Um, Volte, who's the old man you just wheeled out, since I got the don out of the house about six or seven posts ago?
Tony! What are you doing?????!!!!!

You've completely wiped out Paulie's act. Unless we're in some space/time vortex the General hasn't told us about, wink you're not supposed to find the Don at all.
Totally unrelated, but Jabba just called me Poxy in the Religion forum and now Poxy thinks I'm Verbal. I have such an identity crisis.
Fuck. I haven't been paying attention. Forget I posted. I haven't liked Chapter 3 too much....haven't really been into it.

Sorry for being a jerk.....
Yeah, I'm dumb.

And like I said earlier, I didn't mean to steal anyone's thunder, but I waited about eight hours and nobody else made a move, so I went for it.
Alright, let's see if this will motivate you:

- You find the Don is gone.
- You have lost the paperwork that has the Don's 7-digit passcodes to access his room.
- You believe Dino thinks you're a pussy.
- You're wondering when -- if ever -- the house will explode.
- You're wondering why Dino is "wrangling" the people in the house.

Just work with that and you'll come up with something cool. Hope that helps.
Not a big deal, Poxy. It's quite fun trying to improvise things. Hey, you should know that. You're a master at improvs.
So alright, I go and I don't find the Don, do I just get the hell out? Poxy has the keypad code in his pocket, so I don't have to worry about it...when I go to the door it's wide open, right?
Verbal, remember, stay in character. Although, you as Verbal, know what the other players are doing, you must realize that your Tony character wouldn't know certain things.

The passcode, for instance: Tony would not know what had happened to it. Your character would either a) not care about losing it b) worry that he's been incompetent c) whatever you decide to do.

To fully enjoy the game, become the character. That sounds kinda hokey, but that's how the game is played. Don't confuse your omnipresent real persona with your unknowing Tony alterego. Capice?
Anything wrong with this? I just wanna know what I do after it.

Tony comes through the window, expletives coming out of Dino's mouth in a hot mist. He runs off down the hall.

Mixed signals, so the fuck what? I almost died once tonight, honorably or not I was gonna get the fuck out of here.

Tony reaches the Don's room, hobbling badly but fighting the pain.

The door is wide open. A keypad sits on the side wall, a 7-digit code entered in.

The fuck....he ain't even here....either someone fucked up and he was snagged, or he must already be out. All he's gonna do out there is catch a cold, I doubt this place is even gonna go up.

Tony hobbles back down the hallway and is stopped by a group of screams. He can distinctly hear Dino's voice.

That the basement? Dino must be down there.
That is MUCH better, Verbal. Excellent. It will make a good post.

So now it's up to you: keep doing what Dino asked you to do (which is altered a bit since you will now look for the Don) or you go down the basement and feel the wrath of Dino. So which is it, punk? wink

Still there are other things that can happen and it's all up to you and the other characters.
Damn!

I get busy at work for a day and all hell breaks loose.

Good, heh.

Verbal, I hope you don't continue to hate this chapter... I am sorry to hear you feel that way, and will work on it in chapter 4 for you.
Just let me take the time to say I'm really enjoying this chapter, G. The whole thing, too.

On a related note... Katanga? Bueller?

I am about to pen Chapter 4's intro. Posting has ended for Chapter 3. I will make an effort to put a time of day in there for everyone. This will be the chapter in which the action really begins.

Mwahahahahaha.

Sorry...GL...can I squeeze a post in before you close?

Capn: I am about to post Chapter 4, you will likely be able to put it in there no problem. Bottom line: You and Frank are alone now, "Safe" for the time being.

Logan, just so you know..my dislike of Chapter 3 had NOTHING TO DO with you and your brilliant writing. I had been worrying about something else earlier this month and really got disinterested in all of this.

So again, it's not a reflection your writing which, by the way, is just fantastic. I promise I will do better in Chapter 4.

From now on, McCready works alone. I have seen to that.

Consider me a wild card.

Considering that a middle aged high school teacher has just taken on three Triads, I'm going to need it.

I suspect Othello and McCready will see each other soon...
