The goal is for me to take the brunt of the work and for each of you to have a lot you don't have to worry about. This way you can post in here and keep your busy schedules.
If you have never role-played before, pay extra close attention to the following rules. I will strain to be brief.
1. I (General Logan) am the story teller. I run the plot and all the background characters. I am also a referee/judge when needed.
2. As a player, you should only focus on what your character is doing. Post in-character actions and spoken words as if you were the character.
3. Since we have no real dice or skill rating system, bear this in mind: You may role play what happens to your character, and what happens to un-named charaters only. This means if a group of thugs attack you, you can shoot them one by one and post their grisly death however you wish. Named characters, however, can only be injured or die by the posts of their owner (other players for their characters, me for the rest).
For example, if you were role playing "Fatty McGee" you could post the following:
"Fatty shoots one of the cops in the head. (un-named cop)"
or
"Fatty fires three shots at Argento's torso (named character)"
but not
"Fatty shoots Argento in the face. (Argento is named, and this would definitely be Fatty's player deciding that Argento had died)"
Also, be fair. If your character is shot at, be realistic. It is better to role play a guy who takes a slug in the shoulder than to play a guy who is invincible. As the game-master/storyteller I reserve the right to inform you if you have been hit, are dying, or are dead.
4. Don't post outrageous amounts of activity for one post, and don't post more than one action post in a week. You may post in character conversation lines as often as you wish.
5. E-mail me things you want kept secret. If you are sneaking up on someone, planning a trap for someone, having secret conversations with another player (email us both). Keep me in the loop, I will make every effort to remain impartial.
(More to be added as situation warrants. Pose questions and concerns to the "Questions" thread).
