It's the new miniatures game from the people who brought us Mage Knight. Basically, you buy a starter set with 8 pre-painted plastic figures, each mounted to a base that has all that figure's statistics printed on it.

The base rotates, so as the figure takes damage and it's stats decrease, you simply "click" (turn) the base until the new stats appear. Once "KO" appears on the base, the figure is out of the game. There are four figure booster packs you can buy, and most figures have three versions -- rookie, experienced, and veteran -- that reflect different phases of that character's career. For example, the yellow Magneto belongs to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants faction (factions give like characters certain bonuses), but the blue one belongs to the X-Men faction to reflect the time he was leader of the time. There are other cool bits as well -- the Hulk figure gets stronger the more damage he takes, Capt. America gains the Toughness ability when he's about to be KOed, things like that. We played my first game tonight and it was a blast -- my Sabertooth scored a critical hit on Wolverine with his first attack, and my Juggernaut held off Hercules, Black Panther, and Capt. America while my teammate's Ultron blasted everything in sight. Great fun.
